Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

An update, I finally bought a good AWG (arbitrary waveform generator). This AWG and scope combo allows me to create bode plots very easily - the scope tells the AWG what to do via USB (freq range sweep, amplitude, etc). This literally took me 10 minutes to setup and I'm a rookie at this stuff...

    Comparison of Tuners and Q-tune

Here's another comparison with Canvas included. Something odd happens with Canvas on some notes, it's a small error but considering that the other 4 tuners are rock solid together on a waveform generator, it is strange.

    Q-Tune Build

I did some tuner comparisons a while back, comparing Q-tune, Peterson, Turbo Tuner and Polytune 3. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/comparison-of-tuners-and-q-tune.26108/

    Q-Tune DIY Tuner kit

@joulupukki and I have been talking about this, it seems possible via the SD card on the back of the screen. No promises (because he does the programming), but honestly he's a wizard with programming so we'll see... But I did check and it does fit in both enclosures. (1590b shown)

New Enclosures, Kits READY to Ship!

We ordered only a small batch of Tayda enclosures initially; we wanted to test the waters and get feedback from the first few customers. And great feedback was given, THANK YOU! For the 2nd batch we tweaked a few dimensions and added the input/output and polarity icons to the graphic. While...

    All DIY-Boards

Tayda has best prices at $3.50 Amplified Parts has them for $8.50. LoveMySwitches also has them but is currently out of stock.

    All DIY-Boards

Name says it all. This thread is for boards that ONLY include pedals YOU built yourself. Here's my Acoustic All-DIY board, and it's also ALL-Analog (left-right): T60 Reverberator from Scientific Guitarist (uses 3 PT2399's which is mostly analog). AionFX CE-2 (still the best chorus 45 years...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

My next steps: 1) fully evaluate its function, sound, etc. tweak values maybe. This might take a few months. 2) re-print PCBs fixing all the minor issues I’ve found so far and any improvements. 3) put together parts list and Tayda templates, etc. Realistically, might be early next year before I...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Doubt it, very different builds. Q-tune has a lot of special parts, which is why we only offer a kit. PreQ is a bigger build but all common pedal building stuff. After I use it for a while and fine tune some stuff I may offer the PCB's for sale and have the end user source their own parts.

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

I've talked about this with a few EE's who also hate breadboards, they prefer to solder up perfboard prototypes instead.

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Way too much to breadboard. In my experience breadboarding often brings more problems than it solves. To each their own, but I'd rather simulate and print (it's cheap), and then fix mistakes and re-print than spend a ton of time breadboarding. There are situations where breadboarding is useful...
