You can swap them, the pinout should be the same, but this doesn't mean these transistors are the same. 2N5457 has less gain than J201.

I afraid I confuse the pedal. The Arche Boost is based on ThorpyFX Heavy Water! :oops: Those diodes are sort of clipping, thought the orientation is unusual.

Those transistor stages are just simple buffers, no gain. So I'd say that the Hfe are not so critical in this case.

I'd say it's just for the protection from the inversion of the polarity power supply. I guess you could totally excluded it or use another diode: a common 1N4148 or a 1N4001 is used in other circuits. We can wait other opinions, but I'm pretty quite about the rule of this component.

Once I received two bags with three 1w resistors while I ordered two pair of three knobs. And on the label was singed the knobs. They refund me the cost of the knobs, but I think I never will use those resistors I still have.

My only 9v PSU is an old Boss red label, but it's only 300mA. Is the TPA3118 max current draw 50mA? I'm not sure. To get 12v I should use extra circuits or I have to buy a 12v PSU, but in this case I prefer to buy a 19v laptop PSU. I prefer higher wattage to benefit better the amp. My speakers...

Is the 7809 was hot? Maybe it need an heatsink at higher voltage? Not sure, but... what about the current consumption? At 24v you need too much ampere for the 7809?

I'm searching a laptop PSU to buy, at least 19v and 3A, I'm not sure if I have to use 24v, because that is close to the limit for the TPA3118. Do you have a brand or model in particular. Did you have pictures of your PSU used with this kind of power amp?

Your built it's very nice. I prefer to use the smaller 60w version, but... you used a battery? I think a PSU it will be ok for me.
