    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

Thanks I have some reading to do. Note that I changed yesterday my comment on taking out the coupling cap, and biasing resistor. Basically same conclusion as in the threat you refer to. The offset by the TL072 is most likely not enough to result in switching clicks but you might want to avoid it...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

BTW if you're doing a revision I'm interested in a few assembled PCB's.

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

My physics gut feeling tells me that if you put two of these 1206 4u7 50V X7R in series current leakage and some of the non-linear behavior will be less. The fc increase to 3 Hz but that should not really be an issue and you need more board space. I also need to look this up if this really makes...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

I never looked up the actual derating for ceramics in the specs.... I assumed this is less than 10% for the low voltages in these circuits. Also, I never designed for SMD and typically use film for audio. As you said these become very bulky, but for thru hole this was never a problem for me. If...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

Main reason, if you increase resistor values in the signal path you add noise. And a few of the 1M's add up. For overdrive, fuzz and other pedals it doesn't matter that much but for a clean reverb pedal it's probably better to avoid this. As you said pedal circuits are in general pretty...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

Thanks for the confirmation, I started to doubt my approach. I’m rather new to this hobby as I picked up playing a guitar a few months ago and wanted to combine that with my old electronics hobby and start building some of my own guitar pedals. So much to learn on this forum and now I even have...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

I’m not an EE so take my comments with a grain of salt. RG Keen definitely knows what he’s doing but he has a different use case. His switching circuit is designed to replace a 3PDT switch for true bypass switching signals directly coming from the guitar. Hence, the input impedance must be high...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

Got at this page because I was working on a buffered bypass myself. Also using a 4053, but in combination with 4049 and momentary switch as published by RG Keen on the geofex site. My buffer is more traditional with 2 J113 Fets. But then I thought why bother maybe I can find something on the...
