Whelp... put the transistor in the wrong way and shredded it while trying to take it out. I have a 2n3904 and a 2n5089 as well as a bunch of muff transistors... would any of those be a decent sub for pn222a?

Actually... I have a chop shop question as well: the notes say that you need a PN222A transistor. I'm ordering from smallbear and you need to order a 5 pack. You can order a single PN2925, though. Is that an okay substitute?

I'm finding that if I reduce the value of the clipping caps from 47n to 18n (what I had on hand), a lot more clean bass is passed through and only the top end gets clipped. This sounds good to me... but I have been looking at all of the popular schematics and nobody goes below 47n on the...

I think the only thing that could make this pedal better is dialing in a little bit more low mids. Probably a tonestack/resistor change? That's kind of the limits of my ability right now. Maybe adjust C3, C4, and R6... looks like they probably all work together?
