    Pedal storage

I'll take out all the ICs, if needed.

    Pedal storage

I'm actually buying this in a few days. I wanted to build something with doors and LED lights but that will have to wait for another time. Shoe Rack

Trouble Wrapping my head around 3P4T wiring

Without the base and emitter attached no current conducts through the transistors not in use.

New shop space - a WIP

We did finally set a budget of $1k. So, half of it gets me in the space and later on this year we're going to paint and I will be building some worktables that fit around the bulkheads on the floor. I just wish we had done this 5 years ago like I planned.

New shop space - a WIP

No pics today, but we made progress. We're going to install some stick on vinyl flooring over the exposed concrete which is going to be my pedal building area (can't have little bits of wire sticking in carpet and poking my feets). New vent covers for the registers, outlet covers and some surge...

Trouble Wrapping my head around 3P4T wiring

You only need to switch out the base and emitter in this case, so yeah a 2p4t will work fine here. That's a neat breakout board.

New shop space - a WIP

Some progress today. One half of the room got cleaned and drums are finally set up for the first time in a few years. Also, the blinds from the window fell off and there's a bit of a problem with the register cover. I think I will spend the dollars for new blinds and covers for the room so it...

New shop space - a WIP

It's literally the worst part of the house, which is why my wife is letting me have it :)

New shop space - a WIP

This is the original garage in my place that was refinished way before we bought the house. It was daughter's playroom for a long time, then storage. My initial plan was to rip out all the bulkhead on the floor (that has the air ducts) then rip out all the carpet and put in vinyl plank...

How do you typically Clean flux from PCB

I only sometimes clean the bottom of boards but here's what I do: 99% ISO with a toothbrush. After drying, scrub with warm water with a drop of dish soap, again with a tooth brush. Pat dry or use a heat gun. Works perfectly.

    MBP FireAxe (Boss FA-1)

Glad you like it! Also, top mounted jacks on a 1590B is even too crazy for me :) I've never even tried it. Oh wait, never mind. I just remembered I have. Never again!

What strings do you guys use?

I've never been cool enough to break a bass string in like 30 years. You must have been doing some Billy Sheehan riffs.

What strings do you guys use?

I put DR Black Beauties on my Jazz bass the last round and I really like them (on that bass).

What strings do you guys use?

XL or NYXL 11's for me. Anything less than 11s feels like mush after 10 years of using them. Also, a 3mm pick :)

Envirotex Build Guide - final update

That's right - cover up the drilled holes from the inside. Let the Envirotex drip through when poured, then remove the tape afterward. You do have to elevate the enclosure a bit.

Envirotex Build Guide - final update

One trick I found with the Envirotex: cover the inside with painters tape, then cut out the holes with an Xacto knife before pouring. When it's cured, just remove the tape along with the excess drip. No need to re-drill :) You might have to bore the holes slightly with the knife but that only...

    Blauer Stahl- madbean blue steel

I like that you took advantage of the smd JFETs! Even though I still have a bunch of TH I'm mostly doing SMD in my own builds now. Looks great.

A MadBean Wavelord for my SCHMORG (now with CV clocking)

Correct. The Glasshole has an expression jack that is used to connect to the Tappy or Wavelord. It disconnects the Glasshole LFO and the LED is then driven by the TAPLFO. That project ended up being the basis for the Parallax pedal I did for Function F(x). But, in that case it uses two LFOs to...

A MadBean Wavelord for my SCHMORG (now with CV clocking)

I actually did build a version of the Glasshole with the TAPLFO2 directly integrated a few years ago. Some waveshapes weren't that useful but a few sounded very cool. Esp. the weirder ones.
