Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

I second the 57, it can cover so much territory. Tom Petty and a bunch of others have used it on vocals as well. The 609 are cool as well, not as versatile as the 57. On acoustic I can get a Neutral Milk Hotel sound instantly.

Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

MOTU makes some great stuff. One feature I like on some interfaces is the ability to mix direct and playback. I use it for bass and tracking someone's vocals. Guitar I just have one headphone off to hear it directly.

    Spaghetti Western tremolo/reverb?

Interesting on the spirit box. Need to revisit mine, if I recall I do need to make a mod, the swell isn't as swelly as I would like As for the Commit Mirage, love the idea but tubes scare me a bit. Need to get over that though.

    Spaghetti Western tremolo/reverb?

Hello! A friend asked me to help track down some sounds for an upcoming record. He plays lap steel and is chasing those classic “spaghetti western” vibes. I’m pretty well covered on the drive side but I’m coming up short on reverbs and tremolos that really fit the aesthetic. I’ve already...

    The Powder Coating Thread

The Eastwood 150 and 250 JUST came off sale, they were $60 and $100 respectively. I think they do something quarterly. Interesting idea on the lab oven, may need to dig into that.

Help with getting into home recording - what do I need?

I love my SSL 2+, sounds great and like the form factor. The 2i2 is good as well. I’m never recording more than 2 tracks at a time. Guitar, bass and vocals at home. If I’m doing live drums, it’s at a studio. Mac or PC? As we all know, Mac is superior in every possible way and has logic...

    The Powder Coating Thread

I actually have one of those, I use it with my wood fired pizza oven in the back yard. I wonder if wood fired would make the pedal sound better.....

    What's your current headache?

Finally got some snow in the Denver metro last night! The bad news, a spring on my garage door snapped yesterday so the cars had to spend the night outside. Not the worst thing, just had to find my scraper. Mandatory in person meeting at the office this morning, 22 minute drive became over an...

    The Powder Coating Thread

Thanks, I will keep you posted! One thing I thought of, temperature. Colorado FINALLY got some snow and cold weather this week. I will be in my unheated garage, I know paint needs to be within certain range to work correctly, I think like 60-80f is "best". Powder coating have any best...

Vinyl cutout decals for labels, need some help

Ninja have been great to me so far, ordering is pretty easy making your own gang sheet is simple. Again, super sticky so be careful. I have a squirt bottle with water and and a teeny fraction of drop of Dawn dish soap. This will allow some movement and replacing. I like they have a little...

    The Powder Coating Thread

Did it - bought the Eastwood PCS-250. It was on sale plus a discount for signing up for the mailing list. Now to building a booth, ordering some colors from Prismatic and find an oven on market place! As first project, I think should powder coat the brake calipers red on the wife's Subaru...

    Parts Storage Solutions

I have that exact one, yes. Got it on Amazon for like $15. It is good, decent plastic but can't imagine it seeing too much abuse unless I loose my cool trouble shooting and throw it across the room. Behind the solder reel I have snips, needlenose and wire striper. In the round ones I have solder...
