I really think the Purple Platypus is a fun circuit. It does, like you say, get weird. I actually need to grab my DeFx version and fix the octave switch - there’s still bleed through of the octave and I want to make it on/off. 5/5 good pedal and great graphics.

Going to give it another set of eyes tomorrow and maybe a potentiometer to fix the bias. I’ll get it - it’s always something small and stupid.

Been trying to breadboard a fuzz face. It’s not going so hot. I think the problem is the biasing voltage of q2 (been trying with average Si transistors). I’ll get there eventually.

Weird idea. But if you’re making a more permanent board with smaller enclosures, this might be really effective. How would you attach the down facing DC jack in the enclosure?

Do you have access to a hair dryer? Use it on the backside of the board and pop the chip out. Otherwise, I’d invest in a hot air gun shown above.
