Pyrite Ge Fuzz -- or, An Ode to Solder -- or JWin freakin finished something

16mm 9-24v variety. I used a 100r CLR iirc. They look more black in the product photos(I wish) but they're plastichrome. I obviously roughed up that one and painted. The tricolor ones are cool for multibuilds and whatnot. Careful, some of the smaller diameters are probably too deep for some...

Pyrite Ge Fuzz -- or, An Ode to Solder -- or JWin freakin finished something

I didn't. I had that bag of motos marked 30s-40s. Pulled 10 out and took the lowest 3. Thought to myself " I wish these were in the right range. But the pinout matches... Ah, that's what the volume pot on the guitar is for." Kinda regretted it as I was boxing it up, but it was too far to turn...

    Lead Solder Overdrive circuit question

Crosstalk oscillation maybe? Maybe they had designed it with 2 but we're getting oscillation so they added a third opamp. Instead of using multiple opamps or moving to 4 single opamps, they just held half of 2. Crosstalk is a pretty big concern/problem in high gain circuits.

The jack washers are serated belvelle/spring washers. Set of 2, mounted opposing each other. Really strong mechanical locking and provide a perfect depth the the jacks.

Fu..in @Ginsly made me build something. And finish it. But first, this build is sponsored by ChipQwik. Anyway, The build: Easy layout via @PedalBuilder. I used 3 house/MIL/possibly random numbered Moto Germs that measured 42/52/72 in Q1/2/3. No measurable leakage Evee en when heated. Nichicon...

PCBs into 2U rack - can I omit 3PDT (for always on)/LED and still work?

Nothing. The 3pdt switched gnd to the led and input. If it's always on, you can just leave them unpopulated if you're not using the pad on the main PCB. If you are, jumper them.

Yeah But way quieter than those 500V beans everyone else uses.

    Doomy Fuzz Recommendation

Derm + 3x 2N3565s Lower hfe in Q1, highest in Q3. Can increase C1, C5 and C7 to 180-220n for more lows if desired but it's fine in open/drop A imo. Would increase them for bass use though. You want some subsonics cut for fuzz, otherwise most circuits start farting out and loosing definition. +1...

    Random pix

I can walk up to within 5 ft of most of the deer around here, yelling and waving my arms. They don't care. I've done human hair, dog poop, etc. I've watched one walk up the steps of my front porch to eat a tomato plant. Just stupidly fearless. My large garden's fence has kept them out thus far...
