    What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Poor clueless guardian. :( Edit. had time to go through my Crybabys circuit and it’s really close to what I gathered from stinkfoot list on wah mods. Someone has even put a socket for midpoint shift cap! So maybe I’ll test it first before tweaking it further.

    What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Scored these two for 60 coins. Wahs bypass mod needs some loving care with my Weller and switch height adjustment. Also considering depth pot for Neo Clone, is it worth doing? Any suggestions for wah C and R value changes to low tunings?

    How Can I Bias a Push-Pull Fuzz?

How it sounds with neck PU and from 12th fret upwards? Is the octave effect more apparent?

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Last friday found this on my bench. Changing new tires revealed old ones had some life inside. Need to adjust my sealant formula considering propylene glycol is that prone for microbial growth.

    High Voltage Hijinks

I honestly don’t know what I did finally caused 50/100hz hum disappear which I’ve been struggling when circuit was all stock with og pcb. But now I’m there where I want with hum free amp and acceptable hiss remaining. Was it PA grid leak resistor value reduce? Were silver micas causing it? Or...

    High Voltage Hijinks

Been working and fixing some mistakes in my ex-Simmswatts-now-superbass/model t. Doing some bass cutting as second time on rehearsals got me thinking there’s just too much bass and doing high gain with pedals leads bassy mush and preamp hits headroom limit. V1 shared cathode bypass reduced...

    Random non-electronics repair question

Handsew piece of leather or other thin sturdy material over broken end. Use multifilament fishing line as yarn. I’ve used line for fixing shoes.

    New Pedal Releases

I could imagine these are from failing equipment, misusing tools or self taught amateurs (like us) doing stupid things. I’ve witnessed my grandpa duct taping broken insulation on cord as a permanent fix…

    New Pedal Releases

This thing runs on kilovolts, biases too hot into redplating and takes water in like champ while turning it to warm vapour. I haven’t died on throwing water into burning red resistors and you’re afraid of sockets in bathroom, camooon! Ps. I have wall AC sockets in 2 meters from the shower...

    High Voltage Hijinks

Yeah, I made the amp play pristine cleans now and unruly but articulate fuzz driven fire is gone. Harder to find fine point balance there between stability and abuse. Recent cathode bypass cap adjust and more PI headroom/balance/stability just tamed the beast too much Stuck with 2 preamp...

    High Voltage Hijinks

Been reading about preamp design and started thinking maybe I need some blocking distortion in preamp to get into that filthy pre amp drive zone with fuzz/dirt pedals. This is against usual guidelines and manuals about a tube circuit design so is there anything else to dive into I haven’t...

    High Voltage Hijinks

No more cutoffs as I changed some values on V1-2&PI, but changing PI cathode resistors from 470r/10K to 1.2K/22K made a difference in low freq hum this amps been making. Now the amp has less gain and tone with fuzz was all right, but getting into really saturated chuggahs didn’t work so well...
