Easy enough to not do, since I don’t even own a breadboard, and never have. ;)

    Frequency Interchange Filter range adjustment

I'd highly suggest that you learn LTspice or something similar, it makes looking at the overall picture of how various sections interact so much easier.

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

That would be extraordinarily high as a starting point. By maybe an octave or two, at least. ;)

    Getting my learning on

Find a version of Spice you can run on whatever screen appliance you’re bringing, or at least some tutorials on circuit simulation.

FWIW, I never expect nor want any prizes for whatever I might build, as I would be unlikely to ever use them and have more than enough clutter in my life already. I just enjoy sharing some mostly original work and hopefully inspiring someone to move beyond clones occasionally. And in any case...

    High Voltage Hijinks

I use those LMS knobs a lot. But for amps I still have a stash of these that I bought a big surplus lot of from a studio electronics vendor: I got over 500 from him and sold off enough on eBay to keep a few hundred for myself for free. No tubes in that 700 watt bass head, but initial B+ is...

Purpleheart and hickory, IIRC. Those come from an Etsy vendor in Utah called Pickknobs, he does lots of cool custom work and is a joy to work with.

Thanks, and all familiar stuff actually. The chassis in mine is from these guys: https://landfallsystems.com/index.php Their website looks to be useless right now, but they make really bomber aluminum cases and do CNC machining at pretty reasonable rates. I've used Front Panel Express in...

What chassis and what transformer, please? My expenses have always been quite a bit higher than that! Now that the weather is cooling down and I can finally get back in my shop, time to put together that 100 watt bass amp I mentioned. Proof of concept power amp build, which I ran for around...

Still playing around with the v2 though-hole based pedal, here's the most recent try: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/inventory-builds-player-hater%E2%80%99s-ball-2025.26502/page-30#post-348609 And then the bass in post #33 got a new body and a three way Q switch:

I do that a lot too, especially with blue LEDs.

    What's your current headache?

I found the right battery for my old GR-09 synth at Mouser for like a couple of bucks. Haven’t gotten around to replacing it yet, but it looks pretty straightforward.

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Just finishing up a bit of detailing on some wooden pointer knobs for one of my basses: I’ll probably do a coat or two of tung oil eventually, that’s just a quick wax and oil hit for the moment.

Added a bass demo in post #596, we don't need no steenkin' bass memes.

Very high soldering temperatures and components/boards

FWIW, I’ve come to prefer 0.5 mm solder for both through hole and the relatively larger format SMD parts I mostly use these days. 0.015” = 0.38 mm. and is readily available, and I’d probably prefer that for 0805 and SOIC parts, but I get Bro Deals on .020/.5mm solder so that’s what I use most...

    High Voltage Hijinks

Just noticed this thread. I have a DIY 4 x EL34 bass amp build that’s been languishing for about five years now, hopefully one of these days I’ll finally get back to it. I don’t do clones anymore, but here’s one of my older original design rack bass preamps using one 6SL7 and a pair of 6SN7s in...
