Just in, a crapload of NOS URSS and Japanese transistors

Foxey Fuzz (Tone Bender MKI.5 on stripboard)

I really recommend it! But don’t use a transistor pair you would use in a fuzz face, it needs lots of leakage to sound as a real deal MKI.5. You want low gain and high leakage! Check the voltages online

Foxey Fuzz (Tone Bender MKI.5 on stripboard)

I’ve been building pedals for almost 20 years and for some reason I never built any MKII with AC128! I’ll try it this week

Thanks a lot man! Glad you liked it 🫶

That faceplate looks sweet (pun intended, but also true)

    Golden Falk build

Yeah, like everyone said, that’s a very impressive 3rd build, congrats! This is a really good sounding pedal indeed!

    Tone Bender MKII (stripboard)

I’ll record something later, but the transistors read really close to the real deal, Q1 hFE 33, leakage close to 0, q2 hFE 55, leakage in the 80-100s, Q3 hFE 200, leakage around 180 (all measured yesterday, a cold day around here)

Foxey Fuzz (Tone Bender MKI.5 on stripboard)

Here is another mojo-tastic build. Used a pair of Tungsram AC128 for this - I hate this transistor on Fuzz Faces, but sounds great on a I.5! And a short video showing its clean up:

    Tone Bender MKII (stripboard)

I made a project for a smaller sized wedge enclosure with the jacks on the same profile as the other hardware and board goes, because I was always annoyed with wiring floating between the two parts of the regular Bender/Zonk enclosure. For the circuit I used a vintage specs stripboard I got made...

    Why do YOU build pedals?

I started out fixing a handmade pedal I got here in Brasil 18 or so years ago, did as a hobby for a few years as I was graduating in History and it ended up being my full time job. I build pedals professionally for 10+ years and still find lots of joy building every single one of them and also...

That’s awesome! ✌️✌️ I’ve been cooking the idea for a Profondo Rosso pedal for years!

That looks really cool, and it’s nice to find another Giallo fan around here!

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Trying a new enclosure design for the Zeugma/Mark One builds, a few centimeters smaller with the jacks on the same face as the rest of the circuit/parts

    Zonk machine!

Sounds great man, good job! Gotta love the Zonk tones
