    1590XX VFE Klein Bottle V3.2

Thank you so much for posting both of these!! I had hit a road block trying to translate the drill template a while ago and have been dreading trying to finish it ever since.

What strings do you guys use?

I have a set of the slinky flats that I've been meaning to try in my string stash. Their stainless flats weren't available when I bought those but they're what I would try now over the slinky flats. D'addario Chromes are $5 cheaper so they'd have to be insanely better than my favorite strings...

What strings do you guys use?

D'addario Chromes are the brightest flat wounds I've tried but some of the more expensive brands might be brighter - I haven't bothered to try because of how much I love chromes. I use the 11-50 set to tune to C# standard and that really helps compensate for the higher tension that flatwounds...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

The boost isn't super necessary TBH, I just got tired of having to turn up my amp a hair with the creampuff. The red LEDs limit the volume especially with the tone stack, but higher Vf diodes might make the boost even more unnecessary. I simulated the circuit in LTSpice with BAT41s in series...

What strings do you guys use?

I use flats for everything including doom metal. I wouldn’t use them for other genres of metal though. I got asked to join a punk band and might play rounds with it depending on the sound we're going for.

What strings do you guys use?

D’addario chromes flat wounds for most of my guitars, Stringjoy for the ones I have rounds on. My Bass VI's have Pyramid Bass VI flat wound sets that are exclusive to Thomann (these do not fit squier or fender VIs, I have non-vibrato VIs). I'm dying for Stringjoy to release flat wounds because I...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

Great catch, I caught it a little bit after I posted the screenshot I have a handful of 1.5mm axial LEDs that work in that footprint but I also figured I'd try other do-35/41 clippers

    Bring out yer Diptrace

continuing to throw an opamp octave up in front of every circuit. this is into a frantone creampuff into the grindcorefx ultrastoner tone stack with a black tiger boost tacked onto the end

Changing pot to fixed value resistor

When I do this I usually do it the idiot proof way of using two resistors (one going from 1 to 2, other going from 2 to 3) especially if I’m not sure if it’s setup as a variable resistor or a voltage divider

What Rotary Switches Do You Like?

I found some uninsulated copper crimp ferrules that are just 6mm tube at 12mm lengths, I think the OD might be able to squeak through and I’d just have to cut them in half. Only thing stopping me from buying them is wondering if I could ever possibly use 200 of them in my lifetime

What Rotary Switches Do You Like?

lmao I was about to say you could probably make a pencil's eraser ferrule work in a pinch too, I'm gonna steal your method

What Rotary Switches Do You Like?

Lovemyswitches sells adapters that can make round shaft knobs work better with d and t18. My go to knobs are available in t18 and I keep a few on hand but I have used the adapters in a pinch and can vouch for them, but for a personal build a round shaft knob will typically (IME) stay put without...

    ICL7660SCPAZ vs TC1044SCPA

Yup. There’s some newer 7660s too for what it’s worth - tc7662s can withstand a higher input voltage for example (18v for tc7662A, 15v for B suffix). I mostly use 7662s unless a pedal specifically needs the higher current output

(SOLVED) Help w/ Carbon Black Fuzz

Sounds like the 2n2222a's are installed backwards, if I'm remembering right the pinouts can vary by manufacturer

    JRC5534 - different pinout from CA3130?

The 1nf compensation capacitor is lowering the slew rate a ton here. Not sure how critical it is to the sound of the pedal but because of that I’d try single op amps you might use in a Rat like the LM308, OP07, 741, etc if you have on hand
