    What's on the workbench?

that would actually be amazing. What would be funny is if it later transpired that the DIY wrong ones sounded better than the real massive one

What's your thoughts on Brian Wampler's new Video Courses?

Like... it's like cooking, its' recipes not magic... My fave recipe I've found... Make a PPCB chop shop, follow the whole "you need certain value JFETS in the positions for this one" advice. It's good. Read about the SS/BS mini, realise it's the same topology - so use the same spec JFETs...

What's your thoughts on Brian Wampler's new Video Courses?

So I know nothing about Brian and Wampler don't really make pedals popular on bass so I know little of his work (goes to check I've not forgotten something bass players like) but the adverts running on social annoy me... Now I have no reason to doubt these are the best pedal building online...

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I found a loose wire inside - turns out the front pickup switch wasn’t working right. It’s a 1990 model and the wiring diagram for a mid cut is from 1993 and only uses one push pull pot - I had a look inside and it seems to be series parallel switching - but with a cap on the ground end of...

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I am a bass player. With basses. I can not play guitar, I’ve got an acoustic which gets played sometimes. Years back I had a long loan of some Squier japan HH contemporary strat with the trem blocked off … then that went back to its owner…. Then I found a 1980s Yamaha SG400 (think les Paul) in...

    sushi box grand slampegg

I know it’s kinda against the ethos of diy scene, but if I were the OP I would just have two boxes rather than try and mangle a new sushibox! I’ve had enough mods go wrong to know sometimes it’s not worth it

    sushi box grand slampegg

It would be so so much easier to build and run a fdeck HPF into the slampeg - get the buffer at 10M, the HPF, phase…. Dual lock them together if it has to be one thing!

    Oh noes.

I graduated with a degree in sculpture right into the start of the 2008 crash. I was lucky in that it was a top art college and we had some great tutors who pretty much taught us we could do whatever we wanted in life, as long as we realised we would have to work our arses off - and we were...

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I've done cheap squier strip at least once, I didn't have a workroom or heatgun then so held it over the gas hob in the kitchen... For the pain of getting the thick poly finish off, then finding the plastic thick sealer underneath... it's sometimes easier just to get a bit of wood and start again!

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

That's so cool - I don't really "get" the modular thing, but just had a look things like the wave folder would be interesting to play with!
