    Sliver Overdrive (Barber LTD SR)

Nope, I built it stock. I should probably pop the back off and check the trimmers, maybe I have the bass dimed. :p I dig them both but for the edge of break up sounds on single coils to a nice light crunch on an HB man the Sliver sounds so natural.

Dynamic Haircut v2.0 (Barber Gain Changer)

How does it compare to V1 tonally?

    Sliver Overdrive (Barber LTD SR)

I love the Sliver! My Sliver build is taking a turn in the #1 spot in my overdrives at the moment. I don't think I've moved the trimmers from noon and it sounds great. To me it sounds much "bigger" than the LTD mode on your first Gain Changer board that you sent me. But that could be just the...

    Moonshot LDR

But your sister does right? :ROFLMAO: I started doing it because I found some duds (like way out of spec) LDR's in a batch. So if I'm home rolling an opto for say a compressor that has certain specs I want to make sure the LDR I use spec's in the correct range. Come to think of it, it's...

    Moonshot LDR

Also, measure and sort your LDR's. A big bag of 5516's will have a lot of variance. Measure the light resistance, dark resistance and speed of recovery.

    Quicklime Girl

There's definitely a difference in my build. One sounds like a SHO and the other sounds like an Elektra. The SHO has more headroom and can really push an amp. The Elektra breaks up earlier. Those two controls are also interactive and there's a lot of good sounds by playing with the two then...

PPCB Utisol (Dawner Prince Red Rox)

This thing has an incredible "thump" to me. Kinda sounds like playing through a 4x12. How they got that in a pedal is beyond me. Or it could be just a happy accident. This is a highly recommended build.

Simble / Symbolic OD MKII mods?

Here's the schematic to the PPCB Symbolic. Probably the first thing I'd look at to make it less "muddy" is reduce the amount compression that's inherent with the circuit. This circuit is a bit strange in that it's like a backwards Zen with a set of hard clipper BEFORE the soft clipping. I would...

Simble / Symbolic OD MKII mods?

Ahh I thought you already had a Simble and wanted to mod it. So you want to mod a pedal you don't even have yet? Welcome! You'll fit right in here...... :p

Simble / Symbolic OD MKII mods?

    Yah it's confusing as hell.

Simble / Symbolic OD MKII mods?

Ok this is creepy, I was doing a quick Google search for the Simble and my own post and demo came up....... https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/symbolic-overdrive-mad-professor-simble-overdrive.15725/

PPCB Cheese Monger / Lovetone Big Cheese

I get it, I keep saying I'm not a fuzz guy but I have like 30 fuzzes I've built and I'm down in the transistor rolling rabbit hole even as we speak (or type heh). I have a love/hate thing going on with fuzzes.

PPCB Cheese Monger / Lovetone Big Cheese

Oooof, I read the name and started squirming a bit in my seat.........heh. How does it sound?

    Southland

It's so close but sounds so different. I did not like the Southland stock. Which is why I modded mine with Ge clippers. The Lightspeed is still my #1 go to low gainer.

Simble / Symbolic OD MKII mods?

Also, which Simble? There some confusion with the Simble name. It was offered by Mad Professor (I think) but was not designed by Bjorn Juhls. It's a nice sounding Zen Drive variant. But the name "Simble" was re-purposed by Bjorn with his own company and I think that was more of a boost than an...

    Low Gain Silicon Transistors

cuz it's....um.....kinda cool? :p I'd never seen it before so was curious. (yah, I hear you, I should have just breadboarded it......working on that....still, heh.)

Ok found the answer, check this video out. Very helpful.

    Southland

Try putting a couple of BAT41's in the Southland, or low vf GE diodes. Makes it a really nice alternative to the Lightspeed.
