Hi Chuck, I'm wondering if in August '25 you used J201 for Q2 and Q4 and the drain/source resistors from the schematic above? Or did you use SK193 & SK193 like earlier?

I built the sig generator from Valvewizard in '24. It's got a pretty good range and I like that I can set the output volume. The oscilloscope in one of the pics also has a sig gen, but you can only select the frequency (and also it offers other shapes than sin, which the Valvewizard does not)...

I just pulled the cable out of my speaker (amp was off) and measured sleeve and tip for continuity. DMM started beeping and showed 4 to 9 Ohms resistance.

Isn't that to be expected, given the output towards the speaker have a very low impedance, like 4 or 8 ohms? I never built an amp, so I might be wrong. But if there's just 4 Ohms or 8 between your DMM pins it might just start beeping.

Actually, 100p is barely noticeable, even cranked. I sort of liked 330p. But I play Volume high and Drive at 9 o'clock, so that's why. But I mean I just put a socket, it's not baked it. Can be changed to taste.

Hey Robert, surely the Rigel is not a complete clone of the Ceres. It's way smaller and only has one channel. I watched some YT vids some time ago, where people demoed the Rigel, and IIRC somebody said it's a clone of one of the Ceres channels, prolly the high gain channel.

I have to respectfully disagree. :D There's no audible propagation and no charge pump whine. I'm putting 470nFs by default around charge pumps for quite a while now and haven't had an issue since. After seeing what aion did I also found this post, which to my understanding says the same thing.

In my experience there's no problem with charge pumps when you put them like aion did in the Ember and the Straylight. Just add 470nF MLCC from the input and the output(s) to ground.
