    SOLVED LabRat not working

Is the tube getting hot? It should be too hot to keep your finger on.

It also looks like your guitar cable plugs/jacks might be shorting out on the board.

    SOLVED LabRat not working

How long did you have the pedal on when you tried it? I've read some posts where tube pedals could take several minutes for the tube to heat up enough to work.

3 way switch for 2 different capacitor values plus off position

All this talk about Type 1 and Type 2. Has anyone here actually looked for a Type 1 switch? I did recently and only found them at Tayda, everyone else has Type 2. This included reaching out to several vendors on Ebay.

    Gerkin fuzz is incredible bassy

I hate to make assumptions so will just ask-have you adjusted the trimmers? The one on the right appears to be maxed out and the left "VOICE" trimmer appears to be fully ccw.

Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

APD=Amplified Parts Direct, a different vendor than Amplified Parts. But they both apply here. I believe you're arguing symantecs here. They are ALL passing the higher cost to us, the consumers. My point here was  how they are passing them on. Mouser, here in Texas, is pretty transparent...

SOLVED Low Tide Modulation Behavior Troubleshooting/Tuning Questions

You're absolutely correct, but I'm very fortunate, my son plays better than I do, so I just got him to play while I dialed in our Low Tide Mini. Maybe a looper pedal would help?

Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

You mean like Mouser and Digikey? I do agree, but I don't see the smaller vendors like APD, SBP or Smallbear or others doing this. I'm not defending Tayda and the higher shipping rates, just pointing out they're not the only ones that don't show the tariff separately. IMHO these other small...

    Benchtop Drill Press Experiences?

Clamping the workpiece to the table is much safer than trying to hold it by hand. Deep-throated* F-Clamps work well for this. *can't wait for the comments... :ROFLMAO:

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

True, HiFi is all about clear, true reproduction of sound...but the tube amp could be modified to distort...but, but who would dare do such a thing?

Where to go next? Wanting to expand my knowledge

Sounds like you have a decent comprehension of DC theory. Analog and AC is where the magic of sound happens. If you haven’t already, I suggest studying AC theory.

Where to go next? Wanting to expand my knowledge

It depends on what you consider "value" cost wise. The o'scope I got, a FNIRSI, is around $200 now on Amazon and it's a pretty capable scope considering the price. I also build Tube Amps so it was easier for me to justify. When used in conjunction with an audio probe, especially when...

Where to go next? Wanting to expand my knowledge

If you don't have an oscilloscope think seriously about getting a decent one and learning to use it. Troubleshooting, very simplified, is basically knowing what a circuit should do, and figuring out where and why its not. You are already working on the first part. Don't worry, as you...

    Non Tayda UV Printing

Can anyone recommend, from experience, a UV print company in the USA? I am gathering parts for some enclosures that Tayda doesn't carry. My plan is to obtain the enclosures and drill them myself, then ship them out for powder coat and UV printing, hopefully both at the same place. Also, what...

    10mm LED for LFO

Did you ever find one? What did you use and how did/does it work? I'm in the same situation, same project. I've been looking into alternatives. VCC, the manufacturer of the VAOL-10GDE4 also makes a 5mm version, the VAOL-5GDE4, that is also 570nm, but a bit higher luminosity at 380mcd...
