Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

I've shared the alternative Muzzle PCB at PCBWay.com. https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/Keyed_Noise_Gate_for_Modular_Guitar_Pedal_Board_Using_4305Q16_U_Dynamics_Process_0be9e9ac.html It's almost identical to the Muzzle here at PedalPCB.com but I added voltage protection since the...

Alternative PCB for Pythagoras circuit at PCBWay.com

Had to make some tweaks to mine for signal levels. The clipping LED was on all the time, so signal was too hot into the FV-1. And then the signal out of the FV1 was hot and hard to only add a small amount of reverb. These changes might be needed for others. First get input signal adjusted to...

Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

I have not shared the PCB modules (other than the FV-1) but I would be willing to do so if there is interest in this format for a combo. I've also now done a board that can make any of the 3 victory boost pedals (Bobby, Cetus and John on Pedal PCB) as a pre-boost module. The Victory Sheriff...

Alternative PCB for Pythagoras circuit at PCBWay.com

FYI... The board is 2.5x1.75". I squeezed the one above into a 1590G but it was very tight on the sides to fit the jacks and I had to cut a hole in the base plate for the jumpers and eeprom to stick through a bit (but it gives me access to them easily). This case is only 1" tall. If you leave...

Alternative PCB for Pythagoras circuit at PCBWay.com

Built one of these into a stand-alone, always-on reverb in a tiny case for my current pedal board. Also shown... My power amp with XLR out on the left and the all-in-one combo pedal on the right.

Alternative PCB for Pythagoras circuit at PCBWay.com

I screwed up the thread title. Meant to say "... at PCBWay.com" In order to embed reverb into a combo pedal, I've made a PCB in small format. My intent is to install an always-on reverb into a combo pedal and use trim pots to "set it and forget it." Here's one with alpha pots used for testing...

FV-1 DEV BOARD ...Now what? (noob woes)

Have you resolved this? Mine is working. Have you tried grounding pin 13 of the FV-1 to run the internal programs and see if those work? With pin 13 grounded, you should get these three options: If you still get nothing, then maybe the fv-1 is not running, not properly soldered or dead. But, of...

    Alternative programmer for FV1-Dev board

I've gotten my FV1-Dev board working. But the software suggested by the wiki will not display correctly. It looks like this for me and I've tried all the compatibility mode crap to get it to display and it just won't. It works (after I found the right drivers online) but this bothers me too...

FV-1 Dev Board - Not getting audio from the FV-1 Chip

If grounding pin 13 allows the built-in programs to run, then the eeprom might be blank. Have folks gotten the fv1-dev board hooked up to the PC and tried reading the contents of the eeprom to see if it has a program in it?

FV-1 Dev Board 12MHz crystal not oscillating

Have you tried connecting to USB? It should show up in device manager if it's running but won't have a driver. The driver needed for windows is this: CH341PAR.EXE https://www.wch.cn/download/CH341PAR_EXE.html

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

And, yes 12V will work but will only reach about 1/4 of the rated power (assuming you want to use the same 12V for the power amp).

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

It has power-on delay but cannot detect power loss. It has a footswitch to enable/disable, so you are still expected to disable prior to power loss. The preamplifier has 2 jobs: one is to bring instrument level up to line level for the power amp. Second is a bit of EQ to add some sparkle, just...

How to load effects into EEPROM ?

The 6-pin header, looking at the schematic, is an easy way to plug in a 3rd eeprom for development. They must have a separate board for that.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

I've shared the two versions of DI at PCBWay... https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/THAT1646_Balanced_XLR_using_singled_ended_power_supply_20_to_30VDC_0480a454.html https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/THAT1646_Balanced_XLR_using_dual_ended_power_supply_15VDC_12cb3570.html

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

PCBs for the small DI boards arrived. I built one of each to test and they are working fine. Two versions: Single ended power supply as an add-on to the power amps (24V); Dual supply (+/-15V). Shoot me a PM if you want one.

9V protections for projects with a voltage doubler (muzzle, klon...)

Exactly. Three questions during engineering: How easy is it to see an overvoltage? How risky is an overvoltage? How much does it cost to eliminate the risk? It's trivially easy to make the mistake. Catastrophic to some designs (those with voltage doublers and only zener protection). Trivially...

9V protections for projects with a voltage doubler (muzzle, klon...)

I just saw a post over on the gear page about folks blowing up their KTR by applying 18V accidentally. IMO, pedal makers should expect such a thing to happen and handle it gracefully. The common voltage doubler chips have a max operating voltage of 10V. Pedals that use them usually have a zener...
