    Breaking stripboard apart

yeah idk, once it looks like you've cut a significant groove. both sides. yes. i will often use pliers. mostly because the pliers help with applying even pressure across the plane when attempting to snap

    Breaking stripboard apart

yes. after a few scores / cutting a minor groove with a blade, you should be able to just snap them apart like a cracker

    Breadboarding Practices

only until I've finished the actual final build of the pedal that the breadboard build/circuit inspired in the first place. yep, pretty much. i will rebag the 'used' components to reuse again and again specifically for breadboard builds. this one. The mini version was my first breadboard rig...

DEMO [Vero] ZVEX Fuzz Factory w/ OC71, MP20

ay thanks 🤟🏻 yep, it’s this one: there’s a couple different versions on that page - this is the larger one at the bottom of his post. as you’ve probably seen, his build method/intention involves using slightly different 9mm pots to mount the board on the side of a 1590B. i meant to order that...

DEMO [Vero] ZVEX Fuzz Factory w/ OC71, MP20

yep this is pretty much what i’ve seen happen again and again whenever im breadboarding with germanium transistors, even when accounting for idle bias voltages etc.

DEMO [Vero] ZVEX Fuzz Factory w/ OC71, MP20

earlier this year i finally took the time to breadboard this fantastic fuzz circuit and just went with a pair of MP20 pnp units (cos they’re large and easy to handle) and i was immediately impressed with just the standard thick fuzz face sound it does with the controls in ‘normal’ positions. i...

    DEMO HellButt (Butt Head)

heckin brutal. sounds more aggressive than a HM-2 i reckon. could be a really good boost/drive for some slamming chugs

DEMO [Vero] Black Arts Toneworks Destroyer (Ritual + Oath)

since i got a pm asking about the layout - for completeness of the thread/op - here’s an annotation of the layout i used with corrections/mods - 470K input pulldown resistor is deleted - i decided to use the space for an mlcc 100n filter cap (104) - at the 10uF input cap, the 39K meets along...

DEMO [Vero] Black Arts Toneworks Destroyer (Ritual + Oath)

i was always impressed by the Ritual fuzz when i was trying out 1-knob fuzz face variants, so when i came across the Oath - and then the Destroyer - i was quite intrigued by the lineage/associated variants. [Oath = Revelation SuperBass w/ fixed/no controls = Pharaoh w/ no tone circuit & final...

    PPCB Ungula (EQD Hoof)

yeah nah it doesn't clean up and im not sure that it's supposed to - its basically a hybrid MkIII tonebender. so far ive not tried any MkIII-based circuits that do clean up well. and that's ok cos we have fuzz faces/Mk1.5 for that.

    PPCB Ungula (EQD Hoof)

heck yeah. awesome fuzz. breadboarded it the other day, and yep, it's pretty bloody good tbh. when i get a minute ill capture a demo - it needs to be heard.
