I just took out the sdm j201 and put in to-92 type j201 also I also used a 1n4733 and now it plays a little better but gates hard with the first lever up I think that’s the crush switch … I’m not sure I thing it goes from left to right CRUSH GAIN TREBLE when the pedal facing upward

My desolate fuzz must be screwed up it’s horrible I can only play a decent sound when the first toggles down and the other two are up and if the middle gain one is down it’s so horribly gated cant play to lightly on the string or two hard it gates out!!!

not a fan of this pedal. Your guitar playing is awesome though. I Dig that … the gated sound drives me crazy… I didn’t think I built the pedal right I thought a resistor may be off or I fried a j201 soldering those small ones on

It’s weird at first I thought this Pedal was a PNP so I was trying Pnp transistors and some of them kind of worked, but I ended up putting some npn 2n169 in there and it woke it up for some reason the base knob the last like 5% of it is like supercharged

Is that the Phobos ? Aionfx documents are A+ I didn’t know the zonk was so close to these tones benders … I never had problems like this with the numerous tone benders I have made…

I’ve tried so many transistors I don’t know what’s best. I have OC 84OC 82OC 71 AC 113 AC 125 AC 128 a bunch of SB 177 or something. I just don’t know they’re all different. I don’t know what the right gain in the right leakage is for this thing.

I just put some langrex 6lr in there q1 305 180ma q2 235 .315ma and q3 471 594ma and it’s sounds like a pedal now. What a mess I made trying to find the right transistors for this unit. I still I’m going to mix a few of these around and see if it sounds better… the sustain falls out quick after...

So I just had the best luck with a 2n2614 in QI HFE 188 190ma Q2 and. Q3 I put the highest hfe and highest leakage transistors I could find in there like 500- 600 hfe with 300-400ma and it still needs to be boosted with the rangemaster to sound best… I’m going to try these specs I saw online …...

No audio probe I never had luck with those. Maybe I will give that another try.. I even went through all the solder points again.

Just don’t sound right… I get sound it just is horrible… I noticed if I boost the signal with another fuzz or my rangemaster it sounds better… I just can’t get a good sounding pedal… what’s the gain and leakages needed for this type of pedal … is it normally this picky ?

I tried all types of transistors with all types of gain and leakage. I’m just wondering what did everybody do when they built this one ..

I built this pedal I’ve only done a few like this (positive ground) it’s not working correctly when I play the pedal I have to crank the amp all the way just to hear something and the sounds not distorted … I did use a a10k pot for the volume and a a250k for the fuzz … sorry the things a rats...

I built this pedal and i am wondering if anyone has had issues with it playing next to treble booster rangemaster pedal. When I do so it cuts out almost like it’s gated . If you have these to pedals please try and reply thanks … 😊 the pedal sounds ok there’s just not much of any tone selection...
