This Week on the Breadboard: The Roland GP8 Phase Shifter (with mods)

So what wave form is the the good one, sine? And will you have on final version have one fixed resistor rather than trim pot to hit that wave form? Great stuff as usual! Lovin' it!

Building a red Strat and Princeton reverb with my seven year old grandson in Missouri. Get them into it early so they don't have any money to get into other troubles later... 😉

Kakapo are super rare and endangered, at present only on a few predator free islands. They had a good breeding season apparently, but if I ever will see one is a different story. We do have Kea (mountain parrots), Kaka (their lowland cousins), we hear occasionally Kiwi at night. Also have Keruru...

Kayaking through the sunken kahikatea forest on lake Poerua, beautiful autumn morning. Glad there's no gators or snakes or other snappy things around here...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Electronic Orange Diamond Retro Fuzz

Is it sound wise worth building or does the Servo Fuzz cover the same ground and more?

Is C5 polarized 220nF or is there a typo?

    R2-D2

That is indeed some crazy good stuff... How does it sound and behave in comparison to a 'standard' FF?

    Vacuum Tubes

Very cool! Those are 807s I guess? I built a single ended amp with them, still got a few spares from back in the day, similar age I guess, that measure 100%.

Nice! Nutty complexity and hints of cocoa beans and smooth decay on the palette... ;)

    Pedal for harmonica?

So what circuit is it? Any schematic?

    Vacuum Tubes

The left one is a 5F1 based amp in a 1590XX enclosure, it's 5 watts or so and makes a good rattle. I used it on band practices with a 2x12 and got told to turn down at times hahaha... built using tube radio transformers. The right one is just a tube preamp thingy, low starved voltage design.

    Vacuum Tubes

I had an retired radio technician in the neighborhood who was into tubes, testing and on-selling. Really nice and helpful guy. So yeah, I often enough couldn't say no... Since I unpacked the lot, after moving into our new dugout, I had to admit that I probably have enough tubes for now.

@bluedmc777 seems I need to get into some tube rolling then, since you are so into the details and in the know... I didn't know that the grey plate Telefunken EF86 was pretty rare, I just stuck it in there after testing the amp with more basic tubes. Sounded good to me, I might need to dig a bit...

    Arion SCH-1 chorus

Cheers guys and yes I saw the schematic after initial Google fu, just thought there's somewhere a rehousing build report or details like that. @bechbox interesting update on the landau setup, thanks.

    Arion SCH-1 chorus

A friend asked me to re-house hos Arion SCH-1 chorus, anyone done that here or knows good links to samples of what people have done with it? I haven't seen the pedal here yet, he only sent me photos and the size of circuit board and periphery are hard to gauge on the photos. Are there DIY...

    Vacuum Tubes

I haven't done much tube rolling on that, I do have a Telefunken EF86 in my Nighthawk type amp and an ECC81, Russian EL84s and a Phillips GZ34. and that sound fine to me, also ain't microphonic. So haven't tried much else in there. Front of amp:

I do have a scratch build matchless nighthawk style amp and an ac4 mashup that uses them.
