Anyone built the new Marshall 59 and JCM800?

I forget the pcb names. Just curious if anyone’s built and or tried both and which one you liked best. Also how well they compared to the Xotic SL Drive. I know they’re completely different circuits but which sounds more authentic and would having either AND the SL Drive be redundant? I’m...

This Week on the Breadboard: The ChuckMeister Distortion

@Chuck D. Bones Haven’t compared schematics but your explanation of this and the controls sounds very similar to the Pete Cornish Soft Sustain or SS3. Aion traced one a while back. Good sounding pedal but the bass and treble and very interactive with each other.

Modus Operandi Boost (Jackson Audio Amp Mode)

@BuddytheReow So the 2N222A is acting as a buffer in this circuit? I was thinking its adding some lime gain as all the SHO I’ve tried seemed to have been full frequency clean boost smack in the face. I’ve liked the SHO but don’t recall getting any grit out of them. I’m just about to wrap this...

    Narcissus Overdrive (DOD/Shoe Looking Glass)

2nd of the day…I’m struggling to finish one lol. The Lookint Glass is a pretty unique pedal. Had one on my board for a good while. Great for dynamic finger picking and such.

    What's on the workbench?

@Robert I was hoping, and had a feeling, we’d be seeing the Mizuki soon. 👍

    GOTA/SCHUTONE DRIP Chorus (Boss CH-1)

@Guardians of the analog Being a Mistress fan I’ve always wanted to try the HF-2.

    GOTA/SCHUTONE DRIP Chorus (Boss CH-1)

And where are these pcbs available?? Would love to see a “delay time” control on EVERY chorus. That way you can move between pseudo flange and chorus but this looks sick nonetheless

    D*A*M Red Rooster

@Hexjibber Did you do any testing on the transistors or you just using your ears? I have a ppcb board I’m gonna be building soon.

    Blue tac alternative?

Could always try Silly Putty! I’ve considered it but don’t know its melting point.

This week on the Breadboard: The Hybrid Fuzz Driver Deluxe

@PedalBuilder Very nice! Looks like the same Tayda color used on my MB Cosmopolitan (Screwdriver). This is for sure at the top of my list. Where’d you find the knobs? I bought some silver ones but they’re a little small for my liking…plus there’s no indicator on top which is a must for this...

Basic Workflow Tips for Building a PedalPCB

Thanks for the replies. I figured more would chime in on this. @Ginsly I’ve considered using those for several things. I’ve also considered the pre wired led/bezel that can be had very cheap.

Basic Workflow Tips for Building a PedalPCB

I always find the led, depending on location, and dc jack to be the most difficult because it’s just so tight in there by then and the jack HAS to be in the enclosure while soldering. Anyone know of a good alternative jack that can be soldered outside of the enclosure and then inserted inside? I...

    SOLVED Lemonade Overdrive discrepancies

@music6000 Did you try with both the 2.2uf and 4.7uf? If so what were your thoughts. Maybe I should just go with a 3.3uf and have the best of both worlds. Or even socket them.

    Marshall pedals: JCM800 vs 1959

@HamishR Sounds like we’ve had the exact same experiences. Less parts usually sounds better to me! I fully agree about the Friedman pedals as well. @rossbalch The 59 is a YATS? Couldn’t tell be the demos. Sounds great. There’s plenty of YATS being sold for insane amounts of money though. I...

    Marshall pedals: JCM800 vs 1959

Any plans to do the 59 in the future? @rossbalch What’s wrong with simple lol. Usually less parts count sounds more natural in my experience.

    SOLVED Lemonade Overdrive discrepancies

Thanks for the confirmation @Robert. Should’ve socketed the 2 caps but I still have time.

    SOLVED Lemonade Overdrive discrepancies

I did a search for this but only came up with 2 results. The current pcb listed on the current bom in the projects section is completely different from pcb I received. The build document is different too. Also, mine had a 100n cap that isn’t listed on the original…it isn’t even on the schematic...

    Introducing......"Blackie"

Late reply @MichaelW Nice looking build. Do you recall where the random volume knob with the smaller font came from? Seems like every time a find a set they’re special made and way over priced. On your gold Strat is that the mint green guard? If so it looks completely different in the pic. On...

Anyone Compared the OTC-201 to the Diamond Comp?

Well that’s a bummer. For some reason I remember it being advertised as a pseudo compressor as well. Marketing at its best or worst I suppose. Since we’re talking comps Any of you guys try the Cicognani Sexy Comp 76? The “Stetta” build at deadendfx. Again, pdf docs attached below but here are...
