9V protections for projects with a voltage doubler (muzzle, klon...)

I just saw a post over on the gear page about folks blowing up their KTR by applying 18V accidentally. IMO, pedal makers should expect such a thing to happen and handle it gracefully. The common voltage doubler chips have a max operating voltage of 10V. Pedals that use them usually have a zener...

    Getting Started with Arduino

Since I already typed this out for someone asking how to use my soft-touch code, figured I could post it public. This is for Arduino and ATtiny (or Digispark, Olimexino, etc...). Download and install Arduino from here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/software Run Arduino IDE. Go to File |...

Combo build for pedal board core: Pre-boost, Clean/drive channel, cabsim, noise-gate, post boost.

I've spent an inordinate amount of time creating a combo build with 3 footswitches in a 1590DD case. The picture tells most of the story. I'm happy to share info about it if anyone is interested... I'm wondering if anyone else has any interest in such a thing.... To make this all fit, I had to...

ADHD use of 2n7000 doesn't make sense to me...

Not sure if this is already known or not but internal to the 2n7000 mosfet is a zener diode from source to drain to protect against over-voltage spikes or ESD events. I see the ADHD (and OCD) are trying to use the mosfets in a diode connection as if the clipping voltage is set by the mosfet...

    Mini Pedal format?

Any interest here in a mini-pedal DIY platform? I found an existing mini-pedal that is already a decent DIY platform, using two PCBs. It has a bottom board with I/O jacks, true-bypass footswitch, 9V and Vref supply, LED support, and an emitter-follower buffer on the input signal prior to sending...
