You can increase r4 to, say, 1k. It Will change the tone a bit, but the output will be higher

The main thing about fuzz faces (and tone benders, Zonk Machines, Fuzz Rites) is: the key is to buy a bunch of transistors and experiment a lot. The leakage affects how the fuzz face will clean up, how gradual is the cleanup, the texture of the decay. The internal capacitance of the transistor...

I don’t usually care for mojo components, but when it comes to fuzz, I really enjoy building with old, big, colorful and overly expensive components 😂

I always like to try different finishing on existing products of my lineup… looks like I’m always trying to find new ways to get a headache, 🫠. Anyway, I really liked the black finishing with the black 3pdts and golden artwork with golden knobs! I ended up building this one for my own pedalboard...

Finally got a PCB made for this project. 1/2W carbon comps, Styroflex 2n2 at the input and Tropical Fish for the 47nf and 100nf. The transistors are Toshiba 2SB54 for q1, GT310b for Q2 and a TI 2N404 for q3. Sounds really awesome!

This pedal does indeed sound really good. I built one a few years ago and made a post recommending it, too! The distortion portion of the circuit is a modded BSIAB II, look at the schematics and you will see it ✌️
