    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Effect

I messed with the trim pot and was able to get it working!

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

Ok, so the Speed control 2 works fine. But Speed control 1 doesn't work and if I hit the footswitch the LED for speed control won't go on anymore. Also, when I try to switch the speed control and switch back, the bulb for stops pulsing, so I have to turn the effect on and off again with the Vibe...

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

Thought I had this solved, but once I got it off the test platform and back into enclosure, the bulb just stays one (doesn't pulse) and the footswitch for the LED won't work now. Ugh, each time I fix something another goes wrong. :(

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

All 6 pins, they’re dual gang pots. I have reflow station, I can do it. If that’s the only lead I have I’m willing to try. I’m out of time for this as a gift for today though, I’ll have to give an IOU and try it tomorrow. Also, Merry Christmas, thanks for the input!

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

Never thought of this, I don't have covers for dual gang. I did the same on my last successful unit but now that you mention it, the speed pots on the build are much closer to the board. I could try heating it up with a reflow and try to and back them out a little?

    ElectroVibe Modifications Thread

@Big Monk I recently attempted my 2nd build, first was fine, I've incorporated several of the mods here listed to try out and the pedal is not working, Light bulb won't pulse, signal dead when in effect mode. I did both the increase max speed and slow speed, is there a conflict in doing so?

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

When I initially tested? Yes. Since then, no, but even in a lit room the bulb should still visibly pulse, the first one if I took the cover off you could see the bulb visibly pulse in a lit room.

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

No, adjusting either speedpot makes no change in the voltage seen at the bulb solder joints, remaining steady around .745v

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

So I checked the voltage, on both solder joints of the bulb it's sitting steady at .745vdc

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

Well, the Speed LED is not a rate indicator on this pedal but just a switch that cycles between the two different rate pots since this does not have a footpedal to control speed, but it just toggles on and off, doesn't pulse. I've messed the the trimpots, nothing changing anything. But checking...

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

So, you were right, voltage regulator was backwards, now that I flipped it around the speed LED will come on now. Unfortunately, bulb still not pulsing.

    Electrovibe No Effect, No Light

So, this is the 2nd Electrovibe I’ve built, 1st no problems but this one is not working. I used some of the Big Monk mods I didn’t the first time around, Darlington transistor, reliabiLity mod, deeper vibe sound, etc. The bulb is not flashing and the speed led won’t light up, but the Vibe LED...

    SOLVED Pythagoras /Double Tracker

So I decided to check and reflow solder joints in bottom row and it's all good now! Thank you for checking this out for me.

So the effect works fine but the bypass signal is dead?! What is going on??

    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Effect

As far as I know I did everything correctly, not 100% sure though 🤷🏻‍♂️

    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Effect

The LED pulse works and changes speed with the Rate knob. When the effect is engaged I get the dry signal only with the trimpot adjust roughly half way, otherwise I get no signal.

    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Effect

by popular demand, pics! Some FYI’s, Q4 & 5 are 2SC945P like the original and are E-C-B pinout, hence why they’re twisted. And C4 is the correct 220uf value, just large. For the zener diode I used a 12v.

    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Effect

I just finished a Cepheid chorus using MN3007 and MN3101 Clock. With the Effect engaged I get no effect. The Dry signal comes through as long as I have the trimpot dialed in but no effect, regardless of the settings on both the main external pots. Any suggestions on what the culprit might be?

It would be awesome if when you get around to putting up the drill docs you also make a Tayda Drill Template. :)

    Kliche Tantalum Cap

Hey, thank you! Yeah, I suspect it doesn't make a huge difference but I'm making one as a gift for my Father In Law who asked for a Klon and I wanted to try and make it as Klon authentic as possible. Thank you again!
