I'm getting slightly distorted notes occasionally. It mostly sounds great but there's some static or clipping going on when higher intensity notes are played. Is there a way to reduce input gain or does anyone have an idea of what may be going on?

I'm not confident reading the schematic to understand the circuit. I wonder if it's possible or even likely to be as simple as to increase a resistor value on the normal section and decrease a resistor value on the gain section to rectify this. ?

No, I haven't resolved it. I triple and quadruple checked all my values and inspected all my joints. I read this is a rework of the conqueror pcb and I have an inclination to think this is not a direct trace. Kind a drag because I was really wanting it to work as the original.

The level on the active channel needs to be near max to be at unity, however, when i activate the distortion channel theres a huge volume spike if the distortion level is above say 40%. My question is whether using a bc549b rather than a bc549c would affect this. The build doc does not...

Yes I did notice that. It is no issue there. I'm curious of the reason for the difference in volume than the original.

there are three modes. • Mid-Range Boost • Active/Bypass • Distortion. When the active is switched on in the demos the volume is really not much different when the distortion is switched on as well. I expected it to work as in the vids?

I mean there's a significant volume discrepancy from the active mode and distortion mode. This seems to be different than the demo vids I've seen. Is that how yours is working?

The distortion channel has a significant volume boost when the distortion level cranked is sounding really good and fuzzy. Is this normal for this version on the circuit? I'm not seeing this in the demo vids. I've watched online.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've traced the circuit path with an audio probe and it ends at R14? I don't hear the signal on the end of the resistor on the IC2 side of r14 just the opposite side. Is there a component in the schematic after r14 I could isolate and check...
