    Fuzzy Fox help

Hey all. I’m having a fun time with this build, first off. Second; on the top left and top right, there are a couple spots labeled GE. I’m certain one side needs to be a silicon diode and the other germanium diodes. And if so, is there a value better than the other that I should use for...

Perfect! Thanks for the help! Looking forward to finishing this one!

Thanks! That looks close. I’ll give it a whirl!

    Fuzzy Fox drill template

Hope everyone is having a great day so far. I just got the fuzzy fox PCB, but no drill template posted yet. Does anyone have an old template floating around? If not, no biggie. I can finish all the soldering and line it up. I can get all the needed parts from the PCB, but not sure if the...

    Fuzz suggestions

After the 3 I just ordered, I’ll be a bit busy for a week haha. But, I’ll grab those after these builds. I’ve been throwing a treble boost in back of my kewpie fuzz, and if I keep all my tone knobs down to 0, even on my guitar, then run it through a humbucker, it sounds like pure gold! So...

ohhhh good idea. I’ve been pretty curious about the Mofeta. I think I’ll grab one of those to try it out. Thanks!

    Fuzz suggestions

Sorry I’m late to report back, but thanks for all the suggestions! I really only wanted to get 1 PCB, but ended up getting 3! Haha. The fuzz fox, death cap and arkaim. So, I’ll have a busy week ahead of me. Can’t wait to build them! Thanks again guys!

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That looks like it chugs. I've been messing with those 5089's. I think i bit off more than I can chew with this post. I might have a lot of builds coming my way

Very nice! That is right up my ally! I’m not sure what transistors those are, as there is a revision. But, they look like a BC108 or close to that. And that is exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks!

    Fuzz suggestions

Hope everyone is great! I’m trying to grab a mean gritty doomy evil nasty fuzz PCB. I got the Silismile, Kewpie and Bellum fuzz MKII. All great pedals. The Kewpie is the clear winner, but want to grab a PCB that’ll sound even meaner than that. If that’s even possible. But if someone has a...

    Dallas Rangemaster NPN

Well, thanks for all the help, I got the rangemaster up and running. AND I learned how to bias transistors haha. Which is going to help tremendously! I used a few different transistors, but went back to the gritty BC108. I put it in line with a tube screamer style pedal I designed and WOW...

    NPN vs PNP

Ohhhhhhhh!!!! Nice. Can’t believe I didn’t bother to look on pedalpcb.com. 🤦‍♂️. Thanks man! I’ll grab a few of those for sure. I’m hellbent on building a shatterbox that works on a negative to ground power supply haha. Not sure why when I have a nice fuzz face and a kewpie from pedalpcb...

    NPN vs PNP

This is kind of what I’ve been reading. I do, in fact, like the charge pump. BUT, I would like to do things in the easiest way possible. I am still going to try the charge pump. But I think I’ll try flipping all the polarity sensitive components on a bread board and see what happens haha...

    NPN vs PNP

Do you find the TC1044SCPA to be better than the MAX1044? I'm guessing they are pretty much the same chip, just a different manufacturer? Also, probably a dumb question, that the charge pump is obviously prior to the actual circuit, and the negative ground is powering the TC1044SCPA? Looks...

    NPN vs PNP

Got it. This is probably why I don’t get direct answers when I research this. A charge pump is probably the way to go. I’m sure I can figure out how to implement it to the circuits I want. I did design a NPN Rangemaster, and it sounded great! But, I’d like to build it with a switch that...
