Does it sound like Robin Trower? Strangely enough, in every interview/rig rundown I've seen or read, he says he uses other Fulltone drive pedals, not the "Robin Trower Overdrive" one Fulltone makes (and which the PedalPCB "Tower" is a copy of).

One additional clue I forgot to mention: if I put a piece of cardboard in between the LED and the LDR on the high pass filter side (in other words, blocking the LDR from being able to "see" the blinking LED), the sound is unaffected. Also, I check each resistor with a meter before I solder them...

Thanks for the response. I do have continuity at the indicated points. I used a PedalPCB pot insulator ( https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pot-insulator/ ) on the volume pot.

Would substituting a 78L12 for the 78L15 be recommended for someone building an otherwise conventional Photon?
