OTHER Drill PSA save yourself some money

So, as someone who is starting down the path of building these.. do you have the drill templates for them you'd be willing to share? 😁

DEMO Ouroboros — Tap Tempo Wah Delay

Even if the tube screamer gain stage output drives an envelope filter that controls the tap tempo on the connected delay? It sounds like I have a new thing to do...

    Pastel Preamp (JHS Crayon)

Nice work! I put my daughters to work soldering as well.

    Moon Master (Super Heterodyne Receiver)

This is a pedal I want to like but, it just doesn't do too much for me. However, the pedal itself just screamed Mooninites so I went with that as the theme. I even made sure to name the controls in a condescending Mooninites manner. I enjoyed the building of the pedal and the designing but when...

DEMO AionFX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flange with No Name)

Got it! I've noticed their drill templates are a bit tight on some of their builds and require specific jacks, etc to actually fit.

DEMO AionFX Xenotron (Lovetone ? Flange with No Name)

Nice build! I've got this and the other crazy lovetone pedals from Aion sitting in my backlog and just can't bring myself to start on them...

Egregiously Expensive Cruch - Custom Cornish CC-1 Clone, take 3

Don't tempt me. It sounds like a Neil Young and Crazy Horse themed pedal to me: Arc Weld Fuzz.

Egregiously Expensive Cruch - Custom Cornish CC-1 Clone, take 3

I'm going to have to switch to these, I was using VP3203N3-G in a TO-92-3 package and they're more than double the cost of the IRFU5305PBF. And awesome work!

    Tone Stacks - Part 2 - James & Baxandall

It is a dual bass capacitor Baxandall EQ circuit. To adjust the bass cut / boost you'd need to modify R16, R17, C11, and C12. The general philosophy (and I'm greatly simplifying a lot and sure I'll be corrected :) ) of the Baxandall EQ is to keep the mids flat and either roll off or boost the...

TUTORIAL Circuit Design - Power Supplies

Yeah, there is some drop. This article from RG Keen http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/mosswitch/mosswitch.htm is where I'd first seen it mentioned (using.a MOSFET instead of a diode). I don't see why you couldn't use a vp2106 or even something like a irf9540npbf I'd you're going to push a ton...

TUTORIAL Circuit Design - Power Supplies

The goal of the power section is to get clean (for some definition of clean) DC power to your effect circuit as efficiently as possible and prevent damage to the effect if you plug in the wrong polarity. As long as your design does that you're golden. Personally, I'm a fan of power sections...

    Infanem 141G and Driving Notion

Great builds! I built 141G recently and really liked it too. How much auditioning of parts did you have to do with the Driving Notion? I'd love to see DEFX trace Infanem's Faye Sing A.. it's my white whale circuit.

Uni-Vibe and Surprise Preamp (AionFX Straylight)

I'm with you 100% on this. I ended up just fabbing some PCBs that match up to his kits DC and Boss slim line jack board and bought a bunch of premade jst connectors to speed up the build process and lessen my annoyance.

    Soldering Mat

I've been using this mat from Amazon for about a year and it doesn't appear to be building up any static electricity from what I can tell. I've built almost all my boards on it and they've all worked.for me, but YMMV. https://a.co/d/0X7DWmG

Sorry for bumping this back up to the top but did you ever figure out your issue? I'm having the same problem and thinking its an IC issue.

    (Not Another) Tayda Shipping Thread

I've found DHL to be the most reliable in central Texas. UPS and FedEx always seem to lose or misplaced an item I order or it shows up late at night where DHL shows up around lunch time all the time. Plus, Tayda sets their shipping rate to 99 cents for them quite often -- but I generally wait...

    Seppuku FX Fuzz Overloader Clone

I had a few PCBs for a SeppukuFX Fuzz Overloader sitting around and some spare parts too. My middle daughter wanted to learn to solder, so I figured this is a great board to use since the part count is small and the layout is pretty simple. The soldering was really good for an 8 year old too. I...
