    MN3002 replacement

Well, by turning the trimpot a few times cw and ccw, the distorted signal vanished! So, for now I'm leaving it as it is😅 Will report back if the distortion comes back. Can't find any schematic of this specific pedal though. I know its a tweaked CE-1, that's about it.

    MN3002 replacement

A retrosonic chorus/vibrato i have uses this IC. (CE-1 Clone) It distorts a bit while playing, mostly when playing lower register E A and D strings. There's a bias trimpot for the voltage setting of the IC which I turned while having a looper with a couple of chords run inbto the pedal. It's...

    OCD 1.4 weird mods

I don't have the pedal anymore, the value of the resistor was indeed 300k. Seems like the purpose of the mods was to get it to sound like a 1.7. Mods as i remember: germanium diode removed and bridged, Filter caps were 100uf (10uf in my fully original 1.4) 22nf in a socket (schematic says it...

    ODR-1 Mods

As much as I love building and modding: I just went all out and ordered one of these when they came out.. From the original ODR-1 designer Kai Tachibana now operating under his own "Nordland" brand. Essentially his ODR-1 circuit with added mods. Bass/ Mid pot, high/low gain switch...

    Vox Cooltron series

Once in a while I see these pedals pop up for sale. They don't seem to be very popular, but they sparked my curiosity. Are these interesting circuit or soundwise?

    Wish list status?

Browsing through wish list requests i noticed there are no statuses anymore like "in progress" and "completed"? Is it a browser glitch or something?

    The excavation has begun....

They are amazing pedals. Even set at low gain, this pedals sustains single notes for days.

Fix! Everything on the pedal worked except there was no gain. Tried all types of transistors.. nothing.. Then realized I had 2n5457/58 and a J102 I haven't tried. All work! Lush gain and the "dumble" sound! I soldered in the 5458 as I found it to be the best one. Got a NE5532 ic in it now, but...

Just fixed this one for him. Epic sounding pedal, but to me only for lead playing.

Could be! I understand the superdrive came to be in about 2005/2006 so it may very well be. To be clear, thus ain't mine, but from a friend with a huge boutique/vintage collection. I serviced some of his pedalsn amps and guitars for him, and sometimes I have the privilege to take home some...

I tried again to fix it. A 2n7000, BS170 and BF245 all gave me sound! All the controls works now, volume, tone and gain pot, the 2 switches, but no clipping of the signal. Gonna do a clipping diode check tonight. IC's like Tl072, NE5532 and a OPA2134 all produce sound. I'm getting close! 🤘🏼

Well, only the 2 "spawn" en "prototype" an "preamp" pedals in my box have no serial number. But 1 spawn has a engraved text and signature on the Backplate. The other in a sharpie signature on the inside of the Backplate. Other box i guess then.
