    DeadEnd FX Octone

DEFX in a 125b!? What is this heresy!? Good looking build. Loving the aesthetics.

    Let the Pastel disappointment continue

Thanks. I mean a red crayon and lettering and I’d be…….cease and desisted 🤣. Meh on the pile it goes maybe to be played every once in awhile, maybe to be sold. Maybe you will find it more to your liking.

    Let the Pastel disappointment continue

Different strokes for different folks. Hot take: I never got along with the Dung Beetle either and it is a pretty well lauded fuzz box around here.

    Let the Pastel disappointment continue

Thanks man. Def keeps me from going down the road of the peavey pre pedals etc. if I want to sound like shit I’ll just go spend the $50 at musicgoround and then Office Space the MF’er after 5min

    Let the Pastel disappointment continue

Not sure why this is even a thing. Who asked for this or more appropriately what interview identified this as the “secret sauce” to someone’s famous tone? Whatever. There are some sounds in here that aren’t terrible, but the amount of parts compared to ROI is incredibly disproportionate. I did...

    Pedalpcb pastel

Yeah, I have it 90% populated just waiting on Tayda for a few “out in my stock” parts. 💯 this

    Pedalpcb pastel

After listening to the jhs demos I had this filed under “why the F did I buy this PCB!?” and then I saw a unicorn Harry Klippton build report and had a brief moment of hope. “If Harry took the time to build it surely it has some redeeming value.” Sadly I am back to my original thoughts after...

Adding a LPF to a rangemaster circuit

I def don’t know even a 1000th of what Chuck does ab circuits, but I know that any tone tone stack has the potential to lose volume and I would presume that if you are losing volume there then the buffer isn’t going to actually bring it back up, it’s just going to buffer what is going into it...

Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

Placed a $162 order yesterday (resistors, caps, pots, boxes, a few NE555s, the works. Cost to ship DHL express was $48. Still worth it for ease of finding what I need vs mouser even though I still have to order a few things through them.

    Noisy Percolator

You could try strapping a small capacitor across the power jack terminals. Try 100pf. Make sure your grounding is good. You could try shielded in/out wire with the shield grounded. Probably not a whole lot you can do on such a small circuit.

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

I would try reflowing/adding some more solder to your pots, they look a little empty on the backside of the board.

What is a good “first pedal” for a bass player?

It is currently being used in stock form with no apparent detriment to low end content.

What is a good “first pedal” for a bass player?

Chorus all day ery day. I especially like the MBP Touchstone w/ vibe mod. The General Tso is a great, easy to use comp, but I agree with the idea that you should learn how to manage your dynamics on your own first. If you go envelope filter the Mutron (or a derivative, looking at you Lovetone...

If you were going to build a compact Bass pedalboard?

Typically if I am on bass it’s a volume pedal and maybe a chorus or vibe. My son’s board runs a digitech whammy, general tso compressor, Drebbel pre, Jimi Lee OBD-3, MBP Touchstone, and a DMD-2. All but the whammy are in a pedaltrain nano. Of those he uses the Whammy the most with the compressor...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

Just breadboarded the micro blend. Works, but I get bleed from both signals on either side of the pot. Working as designed, breadboard oddity, or I dun F’d sumpin up?

Got bored built some stuff. Poison Apple/Soul Drive/Troglodyte

Nope, that is the “blue vein” from stompboxparts. Way too cold for rattle can jobs since I do mine outside. Edit: Aqua Vein

Any chance on getting the microblend schematic? Want an active blend but not set up for SMD so would like to Vero it

Transistor Socketing and heat shrink tube

Sockets can become unreliable. With multiple transistor switch outs the sockets can become loose and you run the risk of the transistor falling out of the socket down the road. As far as heat shrink I have never applied heat to the shrink wrap, I have some really small stuff and it’s really just...
