Sounds fantastic with the LM308s! I don't know exactly what changes but it improves in general. Sounds more "expensive" a little more body. The other chip sounds a little brittle compared to the 308. Nice! Thanks for the advice! Now I have a fat rat 🐀 😂

I’ve tested all 6 smd presoldered ones and all the other 6 “normal” ones.. None of them reads as JFET.. all read as npn on my little cheap transistor reader.. If I only knew how to measure the Vp and Idss ?

I just tested the presoldered ones I bought from pedalpcb.. it doesn’t detect them as jfets either..

I was able to get this reading the other day with a component tester from eBay, but I believe someone said it doesn’t work on Jfets..

I’d love to learn how to measure Vp and Idss. I looked for instructions here in the forum and and google and I couldn’t find clear and simple (at least to me ?) instructions... I read something about using a 9v battery and a 1k resistor but no instructions.. ☹️

Worked out perfectly! Thank you so much @music000 ! Q4 reads 8.6 no matter how I turn it. And I can’t hear any difference in sound while I adjust it while playing... I like the sound of the pedal, it’s robust, I was expecting it to be a bit more aggressive and brighter.. a little too dark/dull...

Let me correct myself.. (had the jacks backwards) ? When ON, sounds goes through but it sounds like is gated, you have to hit the strings really hard to be able to get sound.. when fingerpicking soft, nothing.. sounds like it’s “trying” to work

Installed the new smd J201s.. nothing, dead silent ? sound goes through on bypass.. led works too..

I’ll solder some legs on the presoldered J201s I bought from pedalpcb, try them and report.

And these are the multiple readings I get from one of the 2N5089s installed on my muff.. from the same eBay seller that sold me the fake J201s.. (Readings seem to vary if I measure the exact same transistor multiple times) Do these seem fine?
