Is this circuit significantly sensitive to transistor sorting? I'm asking in the context of deciding whether to socket them or solder their little asses directly to the board. I have a preference for the latter if the circuit just needs the BOM transistors to be generally in spec.

I see he has it listed as a bass circuit. How is it with guitar? I favor bright/chime-y frequency responses, and it keeps me from digging a lot of otherwise cool circuits.
