TUTORIAL What is a Breadboard and Why Do I Need One?

Will definitely be learning along with this! Already have a breadboard, jumpers, and whatnot. Now to learn how to properly read a schematic and dive into it.

    Pedals for Bass Guitar

My immediate answer is the Parentheses or Parentheses Mini (clones of the Earthquaker Devices Life Pedal) as I absolutely love them, but I'm not sure how much fuzz you really want. If it's lots, they can definitely deliver. They can probably do more subtle fuzz, but I've honestly never tried...

What is the grimiest grossest most over the top fuzz/distortion

I have both a Tyrant and a Hand of God from Nine of Swords. Both are utterly ridiculous in terms of the amount of noise, grit, and distortion they deliver.

    Oscillation/swelling in distortion circuit causes?

I am about 99% finished a build (have to do some routing of the back plate to make it fit) of an Anubis from Dead End FX which is another Life Pedal clone like the Parentheses. Comparing the Anubis to the Parentheses I just finished a few days ago, the Anubis has much more of an oscillation or...

    Spirit Box enclosure and Knobs

    1. It doesn't look like they have pre-drilled for that config, but you could use their drilling service. I think I've seen a post on here where a bunch of coordinates were posted for several of the PedalPCB pedals. 2. I printed out the drill template and it looks like it's 20mm from center to...

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not so sure either. It doesn't seem like a particularly difficult build overall. The piece count isn't ridiculously high either.

    Mouser Project Lists [Suggestion]

Tangentially, what I would love to see would be in addition to the parts listed by pcb position, a grouped list of parts ie: Resistors (1/4W) 1K - 10pcs. 1M - 5 pcs. Or at least make the parts list easily copy/pasted into excel so that you can add everything up. This would make it easier not...

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

Thank you so much! I think I've definitely found my new hobby/obsession. Yesterday and today I populated and wired up six boards (Death Cap, Delegate Boneyard Ed., Greengage, Sabbath, Obsidius, and an Anubis from Dead End FX) in preparation for a shipment from Tayda on Thursday. I don't even...

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

Thanks! The wires are nothing too special, just standard 22AWG stranded wire from Amazon.

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

Not that I really need yet another Life Pedal clone, but it would be a good way to try out SMD soldering.

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

Thanks! I'm finally getting to a point where I don't mind actually showing a gut shot.

Parentheses - Dirty, grungy, beat to hell edition.

This is the third Parentheses that I've built. The first one... Well, the less said about it the better. It was such a headache and I gave up on troubleshooting it. The second one went a whole lot smoother and with some minor troubleshooting works great. As I had an extra drilled enclosure from...

Parentheses - Don't have 1n box cap on hand. Possible replacements?

I did find a place here in Canada to order some so I did. Will I be able to wait? We'll see. I might socket that component and see what the differences are, if any which since I'm fairly new to all this might be a good way to learn a bit.

Parentheses - Don't have 1n box cap on hand. Possible replacements?

I am putting the parts together for another Parentheses build and realized that I am missing one box capacitor, a 1n for C10. The closest thing I have is a 3n3 box cap or a 1n ceramic cap. Would either of those potentially work since I am having a tough time finding somewhere to buy small...

What Strings, yes, a STRINGS thread!

On both my basses (Squier CV60s P and Schecter Stiletto Stealth 4) I use DR Black Beauties. The Squier uses a 45-105 set for E standard tuning while the Schecter uses 65-125 from a 5-string set for B standard tuning.

Thanks guys! Sockets will definitely be used. Time to get testing and soldering!

Question about diodes I just received

OK, so a noob question here. I just received a couple ebay orders of germanium diodes. The middle diode in the image was listed as "D9V/Д9В/1N295X/1N87T/1S75/AA137/GD72E3/AAZ10 GERMANIUM DETECTOR DIODE" and the other two as "D9V Germanium diode. 30V 20mA. USSR." I have yet to test them at all as...

What was your first PedalPCB build?

Parentheses Mini was my first. (Not first built pedal though, I had built 2 others previously.) Then a full size Parentheses. Just waiting for another Parentheses board and about 6 or 7 others to arrive so I can dive into those. Even though I'm 100% happy with my board as it stands right now, I...
