I've enjoyed playing a Mesa Boogie Bass 400+ amp for a long time. But I didn't want to lug that heavy thing around all the time. So I tried to downsize the amp:

I know this preamp already exists in pedal form, either as a kit, terrible building instructions full of errors or as a finished pedal from dicosimo. But whenever I looked at those pedals, I found the control layout awful. So I decided to build a version based on my ideas.
