I have been using a Fender TBP-1 preamp in my rack for many years. My idea was to simplify the preamp and put it in a pedal. So I used the factory schematics and create a pcb.

After building a 1:1 copy of the Mesa Boogie M6 preamp, I wanted to build an alternative version. I wanted to replace the tube with a JFET circuit.

The current draw is 120mA. I would use a TEC 3 because the range of the input voltage is better (4.5V...13.2V). The input voltage of the TMR is 9...18V. Most power supplies deliver just under 9 volts. The Tracos react very sensitively to undersupply.

I used a similar filtering like aion. The noise level is really low, no high pitch like with the 1054 - charge pumps. I use also a SC-40 and a SC-50. I cloned the SC-50 too...
