    2SK208-Y through hole equivalents

generally whenever I run across something I don't feel like buying I search the part number on here to see what other people did. so just now I searched 2sk208 and saw multiple posts about subbing in j201 ... I did that for one of the oddball op amps as well in the low tide

I think I used 2N5457 ... this is covered in some other low tide threads on here.

    2 knobs silicon fuzz face

I feel like I should mention that just because the option is there, you don't have to add a bias knob etc to something like the pedalpcb version of the silicon sunface ... for instance, I took the carbon black and built a NPN tonebender mkii by just omitting the tone control. now you will have...

Correct orientation of JFET in Six String Stinger

when in doubt, break out the continuity tester and correlate the pads on the pcb with the pads on the jfet breakout boards. and if you're contemplating replying that you don't have a continuity tester or don't know how to use one then you should probably fix that rather than waste your time and...

BS170 transistors for Prince Albert build

bs170 are pretty susceptible to ESD ... other than that, no real reason to counterfeit. failure is usually the result of mishandling or misuse

Green Russian/Civil War Fuzz transistor help

since last I wrote about this my sources are either under bombardment or ban ... so ... 2N5088 is fine ... can also try 2N4401 ... the clipping diodes (KD521A) measured much closer to 1N4001 than 1N4148 at 1mA
