Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

Oooh looks exciting! I'm interested in a couple pieces too. I'll message you privately

If it helps any, I read Alpha on both 6T rotaries Paul put in my unit

Absolutely! Glad I could contribute! So what's the next step/timeline on a board being made for this? Also, curious what transistors you used on your breadboard tests

Yay!! I'm glad it worked out! So the 3.3k resistor off the 150k on mine is most likely there to compensate for the tolerances then?

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

So from what I can see in my V2 Rotobone, Q1 switch common wire/terminal that has NPN collectors is linked to Q2 PNP base, Q2 PNP emitters wired together and tied to ground. Q2 PNP collector common terminal off Q2 selector switch wired to X/Output rotary "in" terminal. *NPN Q1 emitters...

You're right, R7 is 18k. Same with R4 560k and R5 150k. That grey looked yellow to me in certain lighting. That makes way more sense now! Haha! Also, yes, the 3.3k is connected from the 150k to ground like you stated. Used my DCA55 again to read the second (PNP) transistor pair pin outs and it...

Just looked at things again. So the 47pf in parallel with R7 still exists. I snipped out and measured that mystery axial cap. It reads between 49-51 pF. The black diode is just a reverse biased polarity protection diode . Now here's the interesting parts, R7 is the 1.2M ohm resistor. R4 is the...

UPDATE guys!! This was typed on my phone so the structure may be a bit messy, but here ya go! Trombetta Rotobone Y-input rotary caps: 0.0082 uF/8.2 nF (yellow Cornell dubilier cylinder style) OR 10 nF since label is MKT .01 0.012 uF/12 nF (poly) 0.022 uF/22 nF (poly) 0.047 uF/47 nF (poly)...

Can we move portions into a brand new thread or do I have to create a new one myself? Not too familiar with thread functions here lol

Ok I think I've got it. In Hi position, it connected Q1E directly to ground. The exact same thing happens in the Lo setting except that there's a 1.2K ohm resistor between Q1E and ground. I haven't measured the actual resistance, but that's what the band color coding is telling me. I also have...

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

Quick question, in general, when biasing a transistor. Sending it through a resistor of some value with the other end going to ground would raise its gain, right? I'm guessing the wire that I need to resolder just goes to ground *I'm pretty sure it goes to ground since it comes off Q1...

Apologies on what will be 3 posts in a row, but in case the photos look weird. Here they are as direct attachments

Well, this was quite the de-goop job. Not difficult, just tedious. Here's a Google drive link to the album of the pedal https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a92-P2z9gU5070MkPHEeSlQaKztHVugR Also, there's a very minor issue I ran into. It's the Hi/Lo power switch/toggle that came off during...

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

Update on this. You were right. It's a pretty soft rubber. I'll try peeling most of it off myself and I'll post the uncovered components again! Apologies on the delays for those eager to crack this one. I've been a bit busy lately. Also, while we're on the topic of PTD stuff, has anyone...

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

No worries. I got delayed as well lol. Here's the best I can do. Hopefully it helps! Like I previously mentioned to the other members, I'm not opposed to sending this in for de-gooping and analysis. I trust you guys! Haha

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

I've actually been following your work for a year or two now on this circuit and was inspired at some point to take a crack at it while using your findings as a base lol. However, a combination of life and laziness kept putting that on the back burner. That combined with how I've yet to hear a...

Event Horizon, or a Rotobone puts on a space suit

Have a Rotobone coming in a few days. I was wondering if anyone wanted to take a crack at tracing it? There's a way to degoop the components, right? I'd be willing to temporarily send mine in, granted it doesn't come with the cost of breaking it lol.
