Fair. I haven’t had an issue but could imagine on stage or with the wrong lighting it could definitely be an issue! Love my switches is no good for me, their postage has always been a killer! I tend to to use tayda more often.
Couple of builds I finished today .
The first is a ghost echo on stripboard. I made a couple of minor mods recommended to achieve unity gain and increase the oscillation effect. I’m very happy with both the aesthetic and the sound! I know Belton brick reverbs can get a bad knock but I think it...
Nice work. I’ve got this done to do point to point. I notice Markus sometimes makes a few alterations to his values - eg one of those 220k resistors is often a 1m. On others there is an extra resistor. Out of interest did you use a 47pf or 470pf ceramic cap?
Love your build designs and write ups. Did you experiment a lot with the bias resistors? I am keen on trying to get one to be able to gate (splutter) as well as a nice rich sustain. Would you look at experimenting with the q3 collector resistor (via a trimpot) or focus more on the Q1/Q2...
Yeah I basically added one as a few people had commented that taming it was quite difficult given the interaction between balance/timbre it just became very very loud. It was a very easy addition so i felt adding it would make it super easy to play around with settings more.
My biggest issue...
thanks man. The fuzz face was a direct copy of your guys design :) so thanks for the influence. The buzz around took some time to get right but i think it worked pretty well - was originally going to be hieroglyphics and then went with a matrix style 'worn look'.
Thanks Man. I half wish i did the FF and RM on eyelet or turret as well however the amplified parts stripboard was a nice vintage style board too. Eyelet board was also a bit easier to wire in the pots - the dane was a pain in the ass !
Thought i would show a couple of my latest Builds
The first build was a Burns Buzz Around using a eyelet board. Most of my components were purchased from Amplified Parts - except for the Q3 transistor that i had a stash of! This was my first build that started on breadboard prior to building. I...
Out of interest did you mount this board ? Or is it being “held” in place by wiring etc? I could not see in the pics so thought I would ask. I’ve just received my board from Hoffman amps. It doesn’t have mounting holes but thinking I should probably drill a couple
Are you using pcb or acrylic there? If acrylic do you know the thickness ? Eg 1 or 2mm?
A lot of the people in aus only offer 2mm or above and just making sure this is not too thick
thank you.
Biggest issue in the states is postage to Australia, The cost of postage will likely be 3 x the amount of the product! i will enquire & try and find a company locally as well.
Thanks Man - its just a micro deluxe so reasonably small in terms of controls etc but a good idea. Have looked up a few PCB, acrylic/plastic options as well as the original option of getting a strip of aluminium from somewhere and just UV printing.
