    No clipping on Kliche Mini

You may have a bad Gain Pot, you wouldn't be the First From what I understand of how the circuit works it blends in the clipped signal with a clean signal with the dual gang gain pot controlling the ratio. The more CCW the pot the more clean signal and the more CW the pot the more clipped...

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

I got forward voltage of .32 and .31.

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

You are right, I misreported pin 4 on IC 2 and missed the minus sign. It is reading as -8.40v. Continuity test results on IC2: 1&2: no 2&3: no 3&4: no 4&5: no 5&6: no 6&7: no 7&8: no 8&1: no I did the other TL072 as well: 1&2: yes 2&3: no 3&4: no 4&5: no 5&6: no 6&7: no 7&8: no 8&1: no

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

    Here are the voltages I recorded off the ICs starting from the one closest to the jacks and going down towards the footswitch. Pins are numbered starting with top left and going counterclockwise. IC1: 1. 8.89 2. 4.66 3. .004 4. 4.03 5. 8.38 6. 3.98 7. 5.49 8. 8.88 IC2: 1. 4.45 2. 4.47 3...

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

I haven’t had a chance to work on it yet. I’ll probably be able to do the recommended testing on it later today.

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

Yeah it seems like nothing is happening on the “gain” side of the mix and turning the drive knob counterclockwise makes it louder which is leading me to think the problem is at least partially in or more of the op-amps. Wouldn’t be the first time I wrecked an IC. I needed more TL072s for...

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I did use the included footswitch board. I tested continuity on each wire between the main board and the footswitch board and got a tone on the DMM for each of them so it looks like the footswitch is properly connected at least.

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

I don’t think those were causing shorts. In either event, they aren’t present anymore but still there still isn’t any clipping.

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

I've got a Kliche mini that isn't clipping. As I turn the gain knob I get changes in volume and it sounds like it is mixing two channels, but they are both clean, even with the gain turned all the way up. I get sound when the pedal is on and when it's off and the treble knob and volume pot seem...

What pot for the semi-sweet distortion?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I was looking at the semi-sweet distortion build documents and it lists the volume pot as being “10k.” https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/SemiSweetDistortion.pdf So far all the pots I’ve worked with have had their taper listed (A, B, W, &c). Is there such a...

SOLVED Oxide Distortion is Too Quiet

I got them on Ebay. They came set in foam in a bag. One worked briefly then stopped producing anything bit a high pitched whine from the output of the second op-amp. The other 2 didn’t have any output at the first op-amp stage. It could definitely be down to mishandling on my end but I’ve never...

SOLVED Oxide Distortion is Too Quiet

Thank you to everyone for your help, espcially @swyse! There was definitely a bad looking solder connection in the second op-amp stage which resolved that issue. After more testing it seems like all 3 of the CA3260 were bad or went bad during testing. I can see why they discontinued them! I...

SOLVED Oxide Distortion is Too Quiet

No, the volume coming out of pin 7 on the IC is about the same as it is coming out of R10. Does that indicate a problem in the second op amp stage? I've tried two op-amps (one 3260 and one JRC4588D) and neither made an appreciable difference in the volume.

SOLVED Oxide Distortion is Too Quiet

Solution: Using an audio probe and tracing the path of the signal, I found that the second op-amp stage was not actually sending out an amplified signal on its output, pin 7. I reflowed the solder on the parts in that stage and replaced the spec'ed IC, a CA3260, with a JRC4850D...

    Oxide, Working then Not Working

I'm a glutton for punishment so I went at it again. I replaced the IC with a JRC 4580D and then the signal started going all the way through the IC again so it looks like that was one of the problems. I was able to trace the signal to the input base, pin 3, on Q2 where it sounds fine, but the...

    Oxide, Working then Not Working

I'm not sure what's changed but now I get a signal on pin 5 of the IC, but a very faint signal on Pin 7 and all of the components in the stack between those two. I've tried reflowing the solder but no change. EDIT: Now the signals not coming through pin 5 again. Thanks for your help everyone...

    Oxide, Working then Not Working

I've tried testing again and now I get a clear signal on pin 3 of the IC but nothing on any of the other pins or any of the components in the clipping stack. I do have a 47pF in place of a 51pF since the 47pF measured closer to 51pF than the actual 51pF I had in there before.
