Aion Termina (Timmy) to Jan Ray?

Had the chance to play both, side by side (I have an original Timmy v2, a friend of mine had the Vemuram), the differences are so minimal that two identical timmy would be equally different by components tollerance

Son of Ben - mid range

I tend to use medium low gain, just the edge of breakup when if you pick soft it's almost clean and if you pick hard it's a bit distorted, Thank you

Son of Ben - mid range

politely bumping (in absence of solution I think I'll switch to another type of OD )

Son of Ben - mid range

I know there are other threads on this ppcb board but I haven't found any specifically about the topic. Built a Son of Ben, fet drains biased at 4V, I'm using it with Jag and Tele, with a Princeton and it's eventually driven by an ep booster or a Octavia. The pedal is overall very good and amp...

    EHX OD Glove trace?

Exactly, when I made it I switched the twos, using the Low set only, when I realized the mistake I found out 33k was too low, the parallel to high

    EHX OD Glove trace?

Slightly OT, am I the only one who think the better sounding resistence in the output filter (the one with the switch) isn't 33K neither 22K/33K paralleled but a plain 22K ? I discovered it by chance inverting the two resitances for an error

Corduroy Fuzz - does anyone have the v1 doc?

I was thinking about modifying my Corduroy Fuzz , a pedal I've never liked so much, using the 2n5089 only to boost the Plexi Drive part of the circuit (tailoring the caps between stages to lower the bass content) but I've noticed I have a different board than the one actually published (and the...

Are we fooling ourselves when it comes to diode softness?

Hammered light blue paint for enclosure?

I like hammered copper in the picture. I'm going to build something with that color.

Question about similarity between Bassman-based preamp circuits

I've never fully understood that 3.3uF cap, its function and how to decide its value, I often saw it in dist circuits with the same value of the cathode cap across the cathode resistor of the equivalent triode stage emulated, but I don't know the relationship

Question about similarity between Bassman-based preamp circuits

I own it, I can confirm it's a very good booster, I use it with the mid boost option on but it's good in clean mode and fat mode too.

AionFX Procyon Legacy (BJFE Honey Bee)

Hi Micheal, I used an Aion Procyon V2 board (from musikding.de, I'm in Europe) but I see both in legacy board doc and in v2 doc , C1 is marked 47n. Anyway, since I was frying thinking about it, yesterday I tried a 4n7 in place of the 47n and, wow, what a difference! I still had some harsh...

AionFX Procyon Legacy (BJFE Honey Bee)

sorry to revive a zombie thread, but I have a question about the first cap, labelled 47n on the schematic in the build document. I built it (there is another thread around) but I've found too much bass and a harsh opamp clipping. Looking at the PCB Mojito I see a much lower input cap, 10nF...

    Pedal Family Trees?

I think the real categories can be divided by topology more than single model: - Cascading stages ( maestro, tone bender, fuzz face..) - cascading stages with soft clipping (BMP..) - hard clipping (Dist+, Rat, klon...) - soft clipping (OD-1, Tube screamer, SD1...) - FET amp emulators (plexi...

    OPA4134 - what should I build?

OPA2134 is SUPPOSED to be superior, but the distortion profile of the NE5532 is still better, old but gold

    A Sweet Combination

I have both the sweet honey and the sweet baby, believe it or not there are audible differences in favour of the MP with my rig (the different op?) , it's like there's a harsher treble in the joyo, anyway not so much to justify the difference in price...

Saucy box - what is this part doing?

At first sight it seems a trick to limit to some frequency band the clipping, but I made some calculation and, even considering the 1uF at the opamp output, you have at max - 3dB at 25 Hz, so I'm waiting for other considerations by much more expert people too
