1 Enclosure, 2 Effects, 3 Indicator LEDs

I'm putting together a Squidward/Zapper and I was curious how I could hook up a 3rd indicator LED for when both effects are engaged. I'm assuming I can simply connect the LED 3 anode to the LED 1 anode and the LED 3 cathode to the LED 2 cathode. Is this correct or am I way off? Thanks a lot!

How badly do you want that third LED? Enough to use 2 4PDT footswitches in the build instead of the regular 3PDT footswitches (running the positive wire through the extra set of pins on one switch for the LED, and the ground wire for the third LED through the extra pins on the second switch)? You could design it so that the other two LEDs would turn off, or you could have all three of them stay on.

Not bad enough to order 2 4PDT switches.

What if I want to have 1 effect power 2 LEDs and the other effect power the 3rd? Could I just run LED 1 and 2 in parallel and keep LED independent?

You can make that work. You might need to adjust the value of the resistor for the one that powers 2 LEDs.

Thank you! According to the schematic on the Zapper it's a 4k7 resistor powering the LED. I'm assuming I want to decrease that value?

At the end of the day I really don't need a 3rd LED. I'm just trying something new and trying to learn something along the way. I'm close to 20 builds in the past year alone and I want to start expanding my skill set beyond just populating PCBs without any knowledge of how things work.

I think that's correct
So....I also need some 20k resistors that I do not have then I found this thread lol so thanks and thanks again! Looks a 33k and a 47k will get me there.
