2 on/off/on dpdt

Can I wire two dpdt (on/off/on) switches to one diode pad (D1) on a circuit board? I'm looking to add 4-6 clipping options to the Marigold. I have other parts coming in the mail next week for projects like this, but was wondering if this is possible since I have the diode's and switches and more importantly, the day off.

The marigold doesn’t have any clipping diodes. Are you replacing something or adding them somewhere?
It does have diodes, both on Q3. One is a 4.7v zener on the Collector, behind the bias resistor. The second is from Base to ground.

I vaguely remember a discussion on these diodes, but I don’t remember the consensus on whether switching them out would make a noticeable difference.

Right. Both diodes contribute to the biasing and stability of Q3. They are not clipping the signal. Also, D1 must be a Ge device because the reverse leakage is the important element there.

You guys are all right, appreciate the clarification.

For future use, can I wire together two dpdt switches to one (D1) location? If so, how is that wired?

Here's an on-on and on-off-on:
