2n2222 with Shika Fuzz?

Hi there! I've been coming back to building again this year and while rearranging and sorting components I found a baggie with 4 "Unbranded 2N2222 work-alike" transistors. I'm still pretty new to experimenting but would these be compatible if I socket them in a Shika fuzz? I think I remember that I have to keep an eye on the pinouts for these. I was thinking about snagging a board and some other stuff with the current sale too.

Any other insights or tips are appreciated.

They'll work fine. The stock one has 2n3904s which aren't super high gain to begin with. The muff circuit is pretty forgiving for parts substitutions.

Those would work fine. Pinout should be the same, but a double check wouldn’t hurt. I think I prefer the 2222 to the 3904, in general, not in the Shika…
