Nils at Moonn has been throwing quite a lot of stuff out here, lately. And after the last two big and complicated things I've built (DBA synth and Klein Bottle), it was nice to put some dirt boxes together.
First up is the BDSM, Big Distortion Sound Machine, running a Ruiner and a Torn's Peaker/Aenima in parallel. The toggle switch kicks in a cool oscillation. It has enough bass on tap to make everyone happy, even me. Great circuit, lots of toanz, lots of fun. My favourite of this bunch.
Then, a Wooly Mammoth workalike. Susrprisingly, I've never built that circuit and now I did. Does the bassy, gated, synthy thing in spades, but somehow, that's gernerally not my favourite type of fuzz, so I was like: ok, pretty nice, next please.
Here's the Bassifier, it should sound like the DOD FX91, that I didn't even know it existed. But hey, why not? DOD has had some gems, a clean blend is there and yeah, it does the low to medium gain OD thing very, very well.
