Abyss sounds like a fuzz.

Hi this is my first post and second build.

I've built the Abyss and it all looks cool the light blinks and the intensity works and so does the volume.
The problem is that it's clipping bezerker. There's a video I've attached so that you can hear it.

I'm hoping there's some obvious reason for this just by hearing it. But most likely not.
Here's the readings from the ics:
tl072

1 - 4.51
2 -4.51
3 - 4.31
4 - 0
5 - 4.38
6 - 4.03
7 - 1.34
8 - 9.53

tl074

1 - 4.51
2 - 4.51
3 - 4.51
4 - 9.53
5 - 4.51
6 - 5.01
7 - 5.08
8 - 4.58
9 - 4.51
10 - 4.82
11 - 0
12 - 4.71
13 - 5.03
14 - 4.78

Also from reading other threads I should say that I've isolated the pots directly below the board with pretty thick double sided tape. A rubberlike tape about 2 -3 mm thick.

If anyone's got some advice I'd love to hear it.

Cheers
Kevin

I can only say in this case to double check component values and orientations. The cap orientations on this one flip around quite a bit. Resistors are particularly susceptible to misreading as well. Other than that, making sure you have adequate insulation on the pot backs under the board and doing a visual inspection. Next is an audio probe to trace the signal in and see where the clipping is happening.
