I have a Karaoke Chorus PCB that I picked up to use in conjunction (but separate enclosures) with a PCB that is a clone of the Roland JC preamp circuit. Since the Karaoke chorus circuit is derived from the Boss CE-1 pedal, which is in turn derived from the chorus/vibrato sub-circuit of the Roland JC series amplifiers, I would like to add the ability to marry the karaoke chorus to the preamp in a similar way.
I’ve already solved the simple problem of adding a second output channel to the JC preamp circuit without loading it down by using a 10k::10k line level splitting transformer (which will also provide galvanic isolation). In accordance with the JC 120/160 circuit, this second output would feed the chorus sub-circuit (in this case, the karaoke chorus pedal).
Where the karaoke chorus pedal and the JC 120/160 circuits diverge is that the JC circuits preserve the wet chorus effect all the way through to a second power amplifier channel with it’s own dedicated speaker(s), with the resulting wet/dry signal mixing happening in the acoustic realm.
In contrast, the karaoke chorus mixes the wet & dry signals more conventionally: electronically, upstream of the amplifier. So the question is where to tap the karaoke chorus circuit to add a 100% wet output for use with a 2-channel power amplifier?
