My Amethyst build is exhibiting pretty excessive sampling noise. At short delay times it's less audible, but the left half of the delay time knob is unusable due to loud noise that sounds like undersampling on the repeats. I compared it to a DM-2w, which has barely perceptible clock noise even at the the longest delay settings. The repeats sound the same, but my build has way more sampling noise.
I've gone through the calibration, double checked my solder joints, part placement/values, jumper configuration, and IC/transistor voltages. The only anomaly is that the rectifier cap voltages on the NE571 are 1.2V instead of the 1.75/2.32V from the troubleshooting doc. The chips were all sourced from Aion. All of the caps are the suggested composition. The Cancel trimmer does get rid of some low level high frequency whine, but doesn't impact the much louder noise component.
Has anyone else experienced this, or have suggestions where to further troubleshoot? Does it sound like a chip is faulty? I can post sound samples if that helps.
