Aion Aperture build problem

Alright, here goes. I've built a few pedals and had success. But I did the final wiring on this one last night and I'm not getting any sound at all. Nothing when engaged. Nothing when in bypass. My guess is I mixed up my connections to the 1/4" jacks, since I haven't used this enclosed type before.

My other guess is I messed up the trimpot, because I had issues when I was soldering it. But that wouldn't explain having no sound when in bypass.

Here's the link to the PCB and it's build docs.

Of course, this is intended as a Christmas present for my father-in-law, so any help getting this figured out today would be awesome.

And no, I didn't test it before boxing it up. I know. Shame on me. I just haven't figured out a good way to go about testing that doesn't make it more of a pain to get it into the box.

But hey, at least it looks cool.

Thanks in advance for any help. I appreciate it.

And boom! It's working. Thanks. I didn't want to just start desoldering and changing stuff around without some confirmation from somebody.

Now I just need to tweak the trimpot and it's all set to wrap up for my father-in-law.

If you knew my history with this particular build, you would laugh at the irony of me helping someone troubleshoot it!

@thewintersoldier @Harry Klippton Is this not hilarious?

Ha! I actually saw your thread as I searched for help before posting. Was hoping to find pictures of the 1/4" jacks to clarify how to wire them.

When you commented, I didn't realize you were the same person. I know I've definitely learned a lot from the mistakes I've made so far on other builds. So, you helping after having trouble with the same build makes perfect sense to me.

I think alot of his issues were with his soldering iron and technique. With a better setup and some regular wire (not cloth push back) he should be able to get his next one up and running.

My second attempt was after the new equipment. So that’s not it!

It’s very close though. I just have not had the urge to audio probe it.

True story: one time I built an electric guitar from a kit and wired the jack with the cables flipped. The guitar sorta worked but the level of hum was off the roof. I fixed it after a quick Google search. Pedals are not as forgiving! Glad it worked out.
