Well, what can I say. It sounds like a rat, looks like a rat, it's a rat! Similar to the PPCB Triad Distortion it's got a switch to toggle between different clipping diode arrangements. Left is one 1N914 in each direction, middle is one red LED in each direction, right is a 1N914 one way and a red LED the other. The last setting is supposed to be two 1N914 in each direction but I didn't like the way it sounded. I had those socketed so I could experiment and ended up liking one 1N914 and one red LED the best. Would have liked to try germanium + red LED but didn't have any GE diodes here. Schottky + red LED was surprisingly fun. Sounded nasty but in a good way. Almost made that one permanent.
I had some clearance issues with the daughterboard - not Aion FX's fault since I did my own drill layout. Got impatient and clipped off the cable relief in the middle. No more clearance issues but also no more juice to the CLR. Whoops. Fixed with a jumper.
I socketed the compensation cap since I want to play around with the value to see what effect it has on tone and noise floor. Haven't gotten around to it yet but did try the LM308N without the cap. Sounded awful as expected.
Last but not least, really happy with how the enclosure design turned out. Tayda UV printed as always, first time with a double white layer for me. Convinced me to spring the extra cash for all future print jobs. Really makes the white pop.
