Aion’s version of the Percolator. I’ve got a PCB for PedalBuilder’s deluxe version that I’ll put together at some point. But this one was ready to go so I whipped it up.
I think I originally got the parts for the Albini version, then I read somewhere that the non-Albini version was a little wilder sounding. So I went for that one. Only thing I was missing was a 750k resistor…

Then I spotted one, at the bottom of the parts drawer! ;)

Pretty easy build. Low parts count obviously.

Sound is decent. I was maybe expecting something a little crazier…🤷‍♀️
Clip switch gives pretty obvious changes in sound. Volume pretty much needs to be maxed out.
Hasn’t blown me away yet, think I need to play with it some more.

Our bird is the Aplomado Falcon. Pretty rare bird to spot, even in south Texas (the only place you have a chance in the US). Fun fact: aplomado means “lead colored”, so this guy is appropriately filled with 63/37 ;)

I haven’t built the Aion version but I have built several of these over the years. It’s one of my favorite fuzz pedals. It’s good for that 90s grunge sound. It’s not very versatile past that but it’s good at what it does.
