Save for it and make it happen one day, no rush! Food and transportation is super cheap here so that is nice once you get here! Guitars - not so cheap lol I couldn’t find a good deal.
In Akhibara (“Electric Town”) there are a bunch of electronics stores for everything from appliance repair to LED shops to non-obsolete components (drawers of resistors, caps, ICs, sockets, pots, etc) to stores with display cabinets full of old goodies. Finding Ge transistors was relatively difficult, asked around without much luck. Everyone I asked was like “model number?” When I told them it doesn’t really matter just Ge transistor they are like Oh I don’t know. One place I asked for LM308 and the guy searched it on his stock and was like Yes we have. Then when I asked him to show me he’s like Better to order online. So you really just have to go in and out of random little corridors and upstairs hunting in that town.
